  1. Before I start, I'd like to make it clear that I'm not trying to start a toxic argument between cops vs crims. Just putting forward my point of view and trying to start a healthy dialogue so we have a more balanced RP and generally have more fun for both groups. Lately there been a trend of cops being really harsh with criminal offences. Be it felony speeding to robbing banks everyone just seems to be on edge. I personally stop my car when I see a cop trying to pull me over, so I can atleast talk my way out of it. It usually used be a lot of fun where we could talk our way out of a speeding charge or couple of misdemeanors but not anymore. Now you get sent straight to prison regardless of the degree of crime that is being committed. If we try to evade, it always seems like it's impossible to lose a cop car that on your tail. If we use bikes it gets looked upon as a chessy strat. If we try to go for jumps which is a high risk gamble that crims take, they'd be banned for UGP. Also when we do get arrested taking most of our belongings is just kicking us when we are down. Honestly at the moment it's feels so unbalanced that it's not even worth being a criminal. All the spots we worked so hard for has been wiped and we basically have to put in all the work again. Other ways to make money is doing store robberies and bank jobs that is a huge gamble to take and is mostly hit all the time coz there seems to be not other way to make money besides hunting and trucking. Currently I see a lot of people frustrated at the present situation and are likely to leave this server even through it has an amazing community. I hope and pray that things change for the better and everyone on the server can have fun. Also to those who are reading, kindly write down your thoughts and perspectives so we can have a better understanding. If y'all just through that I'm just whining and reading too much into this, I apologise for wasting your time.
  2. I’ve been thinking about this for quite a while and I just felt that now’s the right time to share my thoughts. I think it would be useful to add a timer on how long you were on duty so that for the people who comes to do a specific amount of time can tell and makes it a lot easier on him/herself. Some people would say, “shift tab look how many minutes you played on the top left” yes that works but that’s if you directly clocked on as soon as you entered the city. Overall, it’s not something big but I see it beneficial and useful for keeping up with time. Please +1 if you think this is a good idea, thanks. - Matthew KingÂ
  3. I'd like to start a discussion about the current state of how things are within the city right now, from all perspectives possible - so feel free to add in any thoughts as well. To start, I'd like to point out that the interaction between players lately has been incredibly low compared to that of the past, which can be attributed to a lot of factors that will be discussed. With the current economy, scuba diving is obviously the king of making money upfront, with the massive payouts and non-existent risk of jail time or hefty fines. While I am all for a well-paying legal job, this job in particular is incredibly anti-social and thwarts the concept of drugs for its "no risk - high reward" payout. In my opinion, scuba needs to be nerfed to be more in line with growing weed, or all the drugs need a buff in some way to make them the "huge risk - huge reward" they're supposed to be. With the recent change to how dirty money is cleaned, drugs have become all that much more nerfed in comparison to scuba diving. When the purchase to start cleaning money is initiated, there is a huge chance that the police will be at the store within minutes, sometimes only allowing us to clean around $6,000-$10,000 before they show up, which brings up another huge point. Currently, many police officers simply just stand in the store and look at the shelves during a raid, which, as Vagos, we will always defend our store in the event that the police attempt to raid it. Should we defend it successfully, we'll only be allowed the time to clean roughly another $30,000 before another raid is attempted with either more backup or more firepower, or both. If we were to unsuccessfully defend the store, we not only lose the money in the safe, but we are also going to lose all the money that was cleaned in fines/restitution. It also seems that there has been a huge lack of gang-police RP, which is unhealthy. Gangs and PD are always going to co-exist in some way and there's been a huge rift in that relationship as a result of the way many members of PD treat gangs through the use of full fines/time and sometimes excessive amount of force or stereotyping, which seriously kills the desire to RP as a gang. Obviously there are plenty of times where gang RP can get out of control, however the overall RP shouldn't be discouraged. If gangs were to disappear from the city, cops would be bored writing speeding tickets and conducting welfare checks and dealing with occasional drug calls, much like it is now with the majority of people scuba diving instead of interacting through illegal activities. Speaking with several PD members, I have heard that the thrill of dealing with a street gangs makes PD much more interesting and fun compared to chasing drug calls on the pier throughout a shift, because of the constant threat of being attacked or kidnapped, and many have told me they would like to see more gang RP taking place, such as Vagos vs. Ballas, etc. in order to change up the monotony of routine patrolling, and that includes myself as a police officer. From an EMS perspective, there hasn't been much to do as a result of the huge amount of scuba divers. There is rarely any calls for angry locals downing civs for bumping into them while selling drugs, or hardly any PD/Civ interactions that end in EMS being called after a shootout or a chase ending with someone not wearing a seat belt. A large majority of the calls are from people who want to get back on their feet and get back to making their wine or whatnot. So my suggestion is to rework some of the payouts for the drug system and to re-balance scuba diving in order to encourage more RP among players within the Civ-EMS-PD triangle. Reworking the dirty money system some more would also encourage more stores to be opened for cleaning and a rework to the steps PD would have to take in order to respond to a suspicious transaction (such as having to check the FIB building, having to actually see proof of a transaction, or even just temporarily closing down the store instead of closing it for that person for the storm) would also increase the value of stores/store raids.Â
  4. LSFD vs LSPD   A friendly best 2 out of 3 competition and battle for bragging rights among the lost Santos Fire Department and Police Department.  It will be 3 events in total 1. The first event would be a flare relay torch race. - One member of PD and one member of EMS start with a flare and run to the checkpoint where 1 more of each faction will be standing. You drop your flare and the next person runs to the next checkpoint. Rinse and repeat until one faction has crossed the predetermined finish line. 2. The second event would be a 2 lap predator boat race. - EMS VS PD predators racing around the island first team to finish gets the point. (But watch out you may find your self some opposition along the way) 3. The final event would be Capture the Chief - Two factions and two faction leaders both captured in the opposing faction's base... Who will bring home their chief first and claim bragging rights as the best faction in the city? Rules are simple both the fire chief and the police chief are being held against their will on opposite sides of sandy airfield and need their faction to rescue them... You do that by running deep into enemy lines and avoid getting tackled grab your heroic leader and drag them back to your base... Best 2 out of 3 in this event wins. Â
  5. Since you just rolled out sexy new vehicles for PD, Maybe at some point rolling out new sirens sounds to match the new vehicles just to give the server a bit more of an identity. I totally know this is a very very low priority and may not even be considered just thought it might be cool.Â
