Hostage with gun to head

So I am not allowed to speak my mind in a public forum about my personal opinions and concerns on subjects because they might be deemed negative? I mean isn't that the point of a public forum to voice concerns and opinions?

Sure you are, but then another member's opinions and concerns on the subject are no more "proof that 2.0 is going to be more of the same" than yours are "unneeded negativity".

Can't have your cake and eat it too.

For everyone else, feel free to keep the suggestions coming. I do like this idea, but I also want to see how you guys think such scenarios would play out in the server.

The ways i personally could see this scenario being handled in the current sense:

-Negotiations for getting them back.

-Sharp shooter, Not sniper in particular, But a person who has been proven to be capable of making difficult shots and have a clear understanding of whether they have a clear shot or not. Kindof like a CFR Certification but for sharp shooting. This person would, Given current mechanics however would be looking for the kill shot as we have no way to shoot a gun out of their hand or anything of that sort.

Other alternative idea's that would require some work but worth it in my opinion would be to introduce some form of stun such as:

  • Flash Bang
  • Pepper Spray/Gun
  • Make tazers taze both targets due to close contact
  • Tear gas that makes them release the hostage and coughing violently(Some form of 2 to 3 second emote lock coughing/puking due to the gas, Enough time to run away but not too much to make it impossible to defend yourself.)

Realistically this would also cause the hostage to cough. So how would this be implemented knowing it would make a hostages life in danger?

It would push the hostage away, You'd both be coughing sure but it separates the hostage from the person which is the entire goal of the gas.

Tear gas if inhaled for a short amount of time isn’t deadly it’s just a CC method. Not really harmful long term.

Both parties would be disorientated. The hostage taker would be less likely to shoot as they are tearing up and coughing and disorientated, the hostage would be the same it would come to PD to escort the hostage out safely while the kidnapper was being detained

Addition to gas masks? I'd think that would come in handy.
