Popular Post speed
Businesses are here (finally)! After almost a year of planning and development, the first iteration of businesses is ready. Claim your office and build your empire. Can you trust your employees? While there's quite a lot to do already, keep in mind this is part of a massive, growing system. This release is focused on the "foundation" of a business: starting up and building a team. The next iteration is already planned and in development, and I think you'll like what's next. Don't burn too many bridges Added - Businesses    - 2 new jobs, cocaine (illegal) and wine (legal). Both "solo-able" jobs, both significantly better with a group.    - More details below. - Can enter Split Sides via teleport at front door Changed - Can enter Bahama Mama without use of teleport - Can enter Psychiatrist office without use of teleport (from the outside just walk thru the glass) - Reduced Taser recharge time and increased range (Delayed for now) - Re-added seatbelts to air and water vehicles - Very slight decrease in weed and meth prices - Tweaked AI vehicle handling Fixed - Stuff Business details: - Players may purchase a business for $2,000,000 - Players can access business offices (office number is the player number of the business owner [ie: 10418 for Jay Norris])   - Note: as it stands right now, only two offices are available. Please be considerate of other players and don't hog them. We're looking into adding more.    - Employees can access offices without requesting    - Others require permission from owner    - Owner/employees can access chest/wardrobe    - Owner can access management PC       - Hire employees       - Fire employees       - View list of employees       - Manage finances          - View balance          - Deposit money          - Withdraw money          - View transaction log    - Owner/employees can purchase business goods (yeast/coca)       - Uses money from the business account       - Yeast is delivered directly to business chest       - Coca Leaves are dead dropped          - Purchaser receives GPS location of dead drop (be careful, they're quite hidden and the GPS mark disappears when you get close. So pay attention!)          - All players can pick up goods from dead drop location          - Dead drop disappears after 10 minutes if not picked up - Cocaine    - Collect cement from cement works    - Purchase coca leaves from business office, pick up from dead drop    - Enter cocaine lab    - Process cocaine       - Processing is client side, not effected by other players (your heat/ph/paste/product is your own)       - Mix cement/coca in mixer       - Collect acid from barrel       - Add acid to container, keep ph between 2-7       - Add heat to furnace, keep between 20,000-50,000       - Add coca paste to container       - Enable processing machine          - Produce pure cocaine             - No errors (ph between 2-7, heat between 20,000-50,000)          - Produce poor quality cocaine             - One error          - Produce no cocaine (ruined)             - Two errors       - Collect cocaine from cooling rack when ready    - Cocaine processing can be halted by turning off machine       - Cocaine ingredients are not reduced while machine is off, but acid and heat do continue to decrease    - Cocaine lab can be disabled by turning off the power       - Turn off the power at the power box on the roof of the building       - Players processing cocaine are notified that power has been disabled       - Cocaine ingredients are not reduced while power is disabled       - Processing can resume after enabling power and turning processing machine on    - Players can access cocaine lab security cameras (Located on hill east of lab entrance, look for large white/red tower)       - Other players are visible while using the cameras       - Switch between the 3 cameras       - Camera 2 can be rotated using WASD       - Exit cameras using backspace    - Pure cocaine is sold to cocaine dealer (near LSIA)    - Poor cocaine is sold to NPCs - Wine    - Collect grapes from vineyard       - Approach red arrows in vineyard to collect grapes       - Arrows regenerate/move location after 60 seconds (this will be slowed in the future)    - Purchase yeast from business office, pick up from business chest    - Travel to brewery       - Clock in          - Brewery component labels become visible after clocking in       - Clock out          - Labels are no longer visible          - Player is automatically clocked out if too far away from brewery       - Process Wine          - Wine processing is server side (all components, grape/yeast/wine count are synced between players)             - This effectively means only one group can produce wine at a time (per server). So claim your turf!          - Repair brewery components             - Red label represents a broken component, green is fixed             - Component status is synced between all players          - Add grapes/yeast to respective containers          - Wine is automatically produced every 30 seconds             - Grapes/yeast reduced, wine increased                - Produce wine                   - 0-1 errors                - Produce bitter wine                   - 2+ errors          - Collect wine when done processing             - Wine can be collected by any player on the server (if they're clocked in), so make sure you're paying attention!    - Wine is sold to wine supplier  *** Be aware, there is a known bug where circle markers are missing, but you can still perform the action at that location *** Edited August 10, 2018 by Serpico 22

speed
Hotfix (more of a mini-patch) - Due to stress on the supplier, businesses will only be able to make one legal and one illegal purchase per hour - OSHA is cracking down on safety regulations. Workers will no longer be able to drive vehicles around the winery while clocked in - The winery will no longer allow you to store wine in... unknown... places on your body. You will only receive wine if it can fit in your backpack - The state of the factory has deteriorated due to heavy usage    - An old transformer will need to be repaired occasionally    - Components in general will break slightly more frequently - The balance fairy sprinkled some dust on all of the new items and they now magically weigh roughly the same as equivalent items (they were way too light before) - The Peach merchant has rebranded his business to become the Fruit Merchant, and no longer buys his fruit in the sketchy parking lot across the street - Less business savvy players can now sell grapes to the Fruit Merchant - The price of wine has been decreased. Honestly there's nothing fun to say about this one, we just need to make sure it's not going to break the economy. This change is likely unnecessary, but is being done for safety. We'll continue monitoring and adjust the price as necessary. Wine is particularly stressful to balance due to the extremely high price compared to other items (due to the assumption you're splitting the profits with your coworkers). So bare with us while we find the sweet spot, and please give your feedback.  4 1
Fat Stacks
Can you own a business and be an employee of someone else business? Can you be employed by multiple businesses?
DanielBos
@Fat Stacks no you cant. but you dont need to be employed by a business to assist in the production. being an Employee only gives you a key to the office and to purchase the products Edited August 11, 2018 by DanielBos added name 1
Serena
First off: AMAZING UPDATE! I love it so far and it's so much more fun to have others involved in making money. Some ideas/feedback from my POV so far on Wine- Brewery location takes a long time to process the products, and people are getting hostile over wanting their group/business/employees to have some time. I've begun trying to work with other businesses by sharing the time together, but only can do this with so many groups before it's just a waiting simulator game to make a decent chunk of money that we could do faster by not joining forces. My suggestions: ⢠Add another brewery location or put a cap of some kind on how many units of grapes and yeast can be held within the containers. (Someone suggested having a paid timer allotted like with gym membership, so that only xyz people can access the brewery when they buy time to be there. And only people within a business can access the brewery at that time [which means only business owners/employees can purchase time?]) ⢠Decrease the timer on how quickly the wine is prepared. ⢠My favorite idea: Have the brewery not take the most time in the procedures/steps taken to create wine. - This last suggestion is based off the knowledge that people are going to grind money no matter what job. If there was more flexibility in allowing groups to do this while not having to fight over time at brewery, there'd still be healthy competition to stake a claim at brewery, while not necessarily getting so hostile over a legal job. How to do this? Perhaps make it even harder to get pure wine, really requires coordination and proactive care with a number of people (maybe HAVE to have one person dedicated to each, rather than being able to have someone jumping between two - while including a decreased timer on production). Also, maybe if wine has been sitting too long as a finished product, it could go bad? = Product loss if unattended. Or perhaps require multiple people to collect grapes in order to get enough that makes it worth our while to go to the brewery. This also allows a potential market in selling grapes to the public rather than saving it always ourselves. Just some ideas and thoughts  Again, love it and thank you for the hard work!

This is intended! The brewery was designed as a choking point that could potentially create conflicts between businesses, making a legal job a little less so if you so choose to go down that route. It'll make more sense in the next iteration of businesses, but as I said in the main post, be careful which bridges you choose to burn
