Tazer Tag Idea

As we all know Tazer Tag is fun until you get whipped so I have a proposal for a fix to not have EMS running back and forth.

Option 1: Completely remove the ability to pistol whip (IDK if this is possible)

Option 2: Implement Med Packs that get removed from inventory after leaving the Tazer Tag Arena. This would allow people to not have to call EMS every time they whip each other.

For an easier solution Option 2 is the quickest and easiest fix I THINK.. compared to Option 1.. however I could be wrong.

It would be for sure, I cant speak on behalf of the devs but I believe at this point they're looking to polish as opposed to quick fixes.
Plus the ability to do that would take away from the few calls EMS already receives.

When I'm on duty, and there's people down there, one person basically is on call for the arena and that's all they do.  I played it once and got downed due to pistol whipping because some got too close accidentally. 

 

I don't think tactics are part of it. It's 95% of the time not on purpose. Fixing it is necessary in my humble opinion

I host tazer tag events often, I know how it goes. It's largely because people aren't being careful, and I don't think that lesson is going to be learned until they face the consequence of going down when there is no EMS to help. 

Granted, the argument could be made that it's a small arena with a lot of people and it can get hectic. So, it's both, but I can guarantee you that people are not being as careful as they should be. Even though it's a minigame, it doesn't mean you shouldn't exercise some caution.

I was about to make this argument not gonna lie, honestly the arena is indeed small so moving around feels like a swat team raid... I kinda agree on both sides as so far I haven't done it to anyone and I've been a few times so I have the experience of the place. It can be annoying but what Serena said is right, space out and don't taze while you're close it isn't that hard. (I honestly think the hit to the face with the taze should be taken out completely but from what I've heard it's impossible)

No matter how hard you try to be careful, accidents happen and people get pistol whipped. I personally fail to see a reason to why a Medkit or something can’t be implemented specifically for Tazer Tag.. it gets EMS to take care of calls that may actually give more RP. Most TT calls are typically “I just need ice then I’m good to go” which I feel is counter productive to EMS as they look to get RP out of their scenarios. 

The medkits would eliminate all of the hassle for EMS and for the players. These Medkits should just put you back up on your feet with a limp. Some times you may end up needing to go to the hospital and then thats when EMS should have to intervene.

You can’t expect everybody to just not slap each other. It’s always an accident... I know personally in an hours of TT last night with about 10 people we had about 6-8 knock downs....and that was with being careful lol

Sounds like a backwards solution... That's like saying "remove pistols from the game since you can kill eachother in the tazer arena with them"

have you ever experienced what it feels like getting hit with a pistol? i can tell ya it hurts. so in terms its not OP but more like a reality. i dont think we should remove pistol whipping as a whole. and the medkit also seems like trouble to me. *personally* i have never gone down in jail BUT i heard that the prison guards do something about downed individuals who are inside boilingbrooke. cant we get a similar system for tazer tag?

more like get shot 3 times and live , get hit by pistol ,you dead? Plus most of the time they are friendly fire incidents, cause you "lock on" to the guy next to you. The mechanic to me as a whole makes no sense , unless it was a diff keybind other then left click.

I can agree with Kilo, the situation is sometimes it's stupid and it would probably be for the best as it's an insta-kill situation that can't be stopped. We can hit with the taser when someone is near us pressing R so I kinda don't see this being needed.

Possible to make maybe just the tazer not able to "pistol whip", or make it impossible to actually go down in that area, but make it pay to enter, and kicked out after say 5 mins, so not to be abused as a "protection zone".

I see issue with making it a zone where you can't die, it would definitely be exploited in some way we aren't even thinking of yet.

I am glad so many use the tazer tag arena, I saw how much fun people had in the events and with the help of @speed @Serpico and @Bob Dangle it was able to happen for the public. However, I think we're seeing a lot of people use it right now because it's new, I think that will dwindle down and the deaths at the public arena will lessen.

We'll continue to monitor it regardless.

i love tazer tag dont get me wrong i did it for 1 1/2 hours without breaks just 1v1'ing my best friend, aside from that a little lose here and there so far the only issues i run into:

somehow a merryweather merc got in the arena who nearly killed us.
people not using spacing enough themselves and pistol whipping
not noticing the guys from merrywheather are mad at you stepping outside and being lit the fuck up. (after a while the dots on your map dissapear but if you have enough fun you wont notice em in the first place)

i petition to move tazertag to a diffrent location think about the possibilities with the mazebank arena, multiple zones multiple difficulities make it so you are teleported there if you die in there you get revived (since its somewhere else on the map you can add the no death zone if you die in a certain area you get put in a respawn box near that zone or something) this would fix all of the above and give space to a larger chunk of space to make more awesome spots to hidebehind / taze your friends to death i mean for the power of friendship in.

If it's possible, disable any other weapons besides tazers in the area, that would help with the potential exploitation.

Not sure if that's possible, @Serpico would have to definitively answer, but the arena itself is part of the GTA map, and only the enclosing where you clock in was provided by our devs. Perhaps we could instead disable the hostile AI in that area. I never really see anyone going down there to engage with them anyway, not like we see up in Sandy or even at the MC. 

Like I said, the location of tazer tag is one that's already in GTA5, nothing was created outside of the clock-in spot. The big arena is used for admin-run events, which I do often.

allright however there is much more space then that all around.. for say all that unused realestate under the map ( see it like stuff such as club galaxy etc) gimme a few days il see what i can come up with.

I am still sticking with the two main fixes..instead of moving where the location just add a medkit location and have it clear from your inventory just the same as the tazer disappears from our inventories. It cant be that much harder to code, id assume copy the prior coding and replace Tazer with Medkit I'd assume

since EMS have medkits people would also need to get a menu option for that i would assume that can be made possible so to play tazertag youd have to ''clock in'' to get another menu option for reanimation

i kinda stand behind this aswell but there still is the issue of the mercs then  ive killed atleast 50 of em by how regular i go to tazertag and ive seen em manage inside multiple times now.

I say go there at your own risk...  or just remove the room altogether. Its just another thing out there to draw people away from RPing.

I RP going there with my friends/family for fun just as I would in real life go to an arcade or the boardwalk and play games/play laser tag... Maybe it's not your cup of tea but it doesn't mean it's not RP.
