Denver
So aI think it's a pretty well known fact that officers are able to activate a GPS tracker installed in their vehicle once it gets stolen, this is amazing. So what if civilians could do the same thing, with some limitations of course. The civilian tracker would be an item you can buy or find somewhere and won't be craftable, in order for a tracker to be useful you would also need to get your hands on a computer system to link up with the GPS tracker. The GPS tracker will be able to be attached to any vehicle, and will be attached permanently unless removed by yourself or a third party. --- Now for some scenarios: If the tracker is disabled by a third party the tracker would disappear from the radar immediately, the tracker would have to be linked up again for it to be reactivated. If the tracker is removed while active, it will stay active until disabled. If the person that removed the tracker still has it in his pockets, the GPS tracker will remain to send that person's active location. If the person dropped the tracker on the ground, the tracker will send the location of the tracker. Note: Anyone will be able to pick the tracker up off the ground and use it for themselves, but the tracker will still have to be disabled. With the computer you used to enable the tracker you can also disable the tracker, if you disable the tracker you won't have to relink the GPS up with the computer. --- The GPS tracker will only send it's location to the owner of the tracker, or better yet, whoever has the computer that's linked up with it. The tracker itself when activated will beep periodically over and over again until disabled similar to how police vehicles have it. This is my idea for now, don't forget to comment feedback if you have any.
MorettiOG
This sounds like a great idea, as well to add on having a company that comes out and installs a lo jack on your vehicle would be a great idea as a business, and as well for city health. Id be more then willing to drop $100k to have someone come to my house and attach one to my super cars. This would create RP, and it would also be a money sink, and pull some cash out of the economy. Not everyone will do it, but I think a lot of people would be interested in this. It would also make people think twice about stealing other citizens vehicles.
Timr
Someone steals a supercar from gang A Gang A activates tracker and finds the car Gang A has no use of force regulations or fair play considerations like police do, immediately ram the car into a wall at 150mph, get out, gun down the occupants with 5 AKs No thanks

So if you have the tracker on your vehicle, police can track it like they can wtih police cars.

It also makes people think twice about stealing them. Some cars may have it some may not, not everyone will buy them at a 100k price range. Having them on the vehicles for just police to track would also be good. Would have to be cheaper though.

Maybe even monitoring players RP, been in many servers where people can activate it and haven't seen any major issues.

It is probably best if they are just reported because people typically know better then to do unrealistic RP like that. Im a +1 for this idea Edited January 29, 2023 by Ethman forgot
