  1. I would love to see different ways to do trucking. For example use the current trucking missions, for new truckers. However, give them the option to buy their own trailer. (wouldn't be cheep). Could give them more options here, with a tanker or normal trailer, flat bed, ect.) This would add so much to this career. When someone uses their own trailer, the missions change. Now you can go to a store, buy/order bulk items that will fill your trailer. The catch here is, you have to pay for the items. However, because there is much more of an investment and risk coming from the driver. The pay should be much better than it is currently. Think like the delivery missions, but in bulk, because your investment and risk is so much higher, you should get a higher percentage in return per item sold. Could set it up, so one mission might take you across the whole map, to sell everything in your full trailer. While others might have you buy different products, and you need make 2-5 stops with one trailer load. This would also be very scale able. However not broken. This should very profitable, due to the high risk and investment. If you're not sure the risk I'm talking about, its the fact that if your trailer gets destroyed or you die, you lose everything in that trailer. So if you invested 50k - 100k in the product in the trailer, you'd lose all of it. That's a lot of money to put on the line. However, make it to your destination and sell your inventory, maybe make somewhere between 110k - 220k in gross. (This would need to be balanced, just an example.) I think the ability to buy your own trailer, then invest more by buying product, would add so much to this job for the better! As of right now i make 15-30k per hour in trucking. For the 125k investment, I feel this is a bit low. However having more options to increase my potential earnings per hour would be amazing. And add some decision making.
  2. SO basically it would be a place you go on the map to host like talk shows and like pod cast and will be broadcasted to the radio in everyone car that on the correct station i think this would be a great feature honestly to bring more people together
  3. Disclaimer: I searched the forum using the search function in the top right and couldn't find any suggestions related to this, though I am fairly sure I am not the first to think of this TLDR: Suggestion post, suggesting the addition of a job selling stolen NPC cars. Â Dear friends, I for one really love jobs that don't require a set way of handling, so jobs that don't make you go from A (peach field) to B (peach seller). This is why I would very much like to see the addition of a job along the lines of selling stolen cars. As of now, lockpicks have a fairly low use rate (from my experience), there is also no real reason to steal cars other than if it's not able to be purchased from the dealer. This is why I would suggest a chop shop, where stolen cars can be stripped of their valuable parts and sold on the black market (not the actual player shop but the .... imaginary black market). This would enable players to steal cars from anywhere on the map and sell them on location B (the chop shop). Eliminating point A (something like the peach field marker) from the process. Revenue from this job should either vary based on the number of parts that the shop is getting (which might be hard to implement) or only give decent money for supercars and old-timers (the latter being the best). Since the sentence of GTA (the crime not the game) is not the highest neither should the pay, just enough to tempt people into stealing cars that are expensive (since these might be worth the time). Now talk mechanics, I was unable to find a script that does this but I have seen similar jobs on multiple servers. So I think they are out there, but I am just not sure where to look for them. To make it fair for the cops and maybe a way to increase the pay somewhat I've made some bullet points: It is impossible to sell player owned cars, even if its the players own car. (maybe refuse customised cars since these used to belong to players) Chopping up the car takes time, the better the car the longer it takes. During this time cops can still charge players with GTA even if they are not seated in the car themselves. (optional) - Selling the same car (or cars that are common) gives less cash every time (or none) {to stop people from stealing cars next to the chop shop to grind quick cash} (optional) - Cars can only be sold in 100% durability {stops people from driving like morons or force them to fix their cars before getting money for it} Other things to consider are: How do people get away from the chop shop if they just sold their ride? (free bike? Ride from a friend? Walk to nearest garage?) Is there only one chop shop or are there more? (maybe one in Poleto, though that would be hard to patrol for officers) I think this pretty much covers my thoughts on the subject and thereby the end of the suggestion. I have linked two pictures below that show a possible suitable location, though the two remarks above this line do stay valid remarks. Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope we can get a useful discussion below here and maybe a response of a dev that could say if this is feasible and if so elaborate a bit other than "maybe in the future". 4. Already we just got wine, but you will need a bussines for this or buy the stuff from someone, We had the gold mine, fishing, diving and fruit. The way i see diving is, yo have a chance of getting stuff that you normally would work for or buy. - Lockpicks --> Blackmarket - Gold --> Gold mine - Old boot --> Just junk - Ruby --> Diving - Diamonds --> Diving - Saphire's --> Diving - Repair kits --> 24/7 ? - (i thought there was one more, cant remember which) So most of the stuff you will find, you can find or buy somewhere else. What about mining, you would go to the quary thats already in the game. and you mine rocks, you would bring thos rocks to the smeltery and get stuff from the rocks. Example : Diamonds --> 2% chance Ruby's --> 15% chance Saphire's --> 32% chance Gold --> 51% chance Doesnt have to be that ^^^ After you got the stuff you would go to the location and sell thos, i would love to see this and it could bring alot of rp with people at the mine, Give it a chance.
  5. To make things nice an easy I will state the idea, then my proposed way of going about it concept wise, and then why I am suggesting it. Controller Support Possibly make a command such as /control that temporarily disables the custom keybinds the server applies so while driving/flying controls are treated as regular GTA. As an EMS Pilot I use my controller to fly because flying with a keyboard isn't as fluid and leads to rough flights. The main issue is with 2.9 by moving engine to L the right trigger on the controller does both toggles the engine and ascends I did try the suggestion of using a keypad mapper but city binds overwrite it sometimes, also the flying is that of like a keyboard. Mobile illegal Locations As similar concept to the new illegal informant that moves based on the officer. Make it so weed processing/ephedrine/black market move between a few locations based on the citizen. Possibly have it when a location is unable to process or runs out make it so then it moves to the other location(s). This is mostly to prevent camping from both Police and other civilians, sure being robbed or arrested at the locations is all part of the RP but a little extra effort from people to get to that RP isn't a bad thing. I am aware officers have restrictions on how often they can patrol such areas but the variety makes officers and civilians take initiative. Multiple locations would also remove the problem of a group of strangers being at this location and all getting busted because one person did something that caused a Police alert either intentionally or not. Having multiple locations also encourages players to go around and explore the city a bit instead of being at the same hotspots. Vehicle Keys Make it so car keys are an item that is in the players inventory and each set of keys are unique to that players vehicle. Once a player retrieves a vehicle from their garage have it be deposited in their inventory and when it is impounded/stored they are removed. These keys would be named something similar to "Tyrone's Surfer Keys" and would only work on Tyrone's Surfer. A feature to go to a location such as the jewelry store and pay to have a duplicate made. Being able to lend your car out to your friends is something people have shown interest in and can also work for vehicle rentals. This can also lead to extended criminal RP where instead of just getting into an unlocked and running vehicle you can mug them for their keys. After a drunk night out you can also claim your friend's keys to stop drinking and driving! Apartment Keys A similar concept to the previous suggestion where when you buy an apartment you get a key which lets you just go right into said apartment. You would still need the apartment number but you can bypass the need to be buzzed in. As the owner of the apartment if you lose your key you can still get into your apartment and a replacement key by paying a small fee to your building superintendent. The owner of the apartment also has the ability to spend a small fee to change the locks on the apartment which would invalidate the previous key. If you are a key holder you can access whatever is inside the apartment such as storage and the closet and even buzz people in. A feature to go to a location such as the jewelry store and pay to have a duplicate made. With apartment keys you open up a bit more of life RP since people can now live together and share a bit more freely. This also can add more of a sense of criminal RP where you can now do home invasions by stealing a copy of the key to get into their apartment. I get lonely sometimes. Vehicle Repossession Missions A similar concept to vehicle sourcing missions from the online. A player can go to either a legal or illegal map marker and be tasked with retrieving a certain vehicle. The illegal sourcing should be a roaming one via various garages or machine shops around the city while the legal one is a set place such as Simeon's. The player would be told that the vehicle is somewhere in a specific region such as West Vinewood so they have to go there and actually look around. If they are doing the legal sourcing then have it so there are NPCs nearby that are sensitive to the vehicle and will attack you when you enter it or get too close. If they are doing it on the legal end have an item deposited in their inventory stating the job. If you are doing the illegal sourcing make it so the car shows up via the illegal informant while it is being sourced or such as with drugs have a NPC potentially call it in. Payment could be based on either car condition or on the time it takes to retrieve the vehicle. For those who enjoy being car thieves and are looking for a little more interaction that just boosting a random car. Also adds another layer to the lives of citizens and depending on implementation competition if two people are tasked with the same vehicle.
  6. To make things nice an easy I will state the idea, then my proposed way of going about it concept wise, and then why I am suggesting it. Paleto Bay Helipad. At the Police station in Paleto Bay use one of their helipads as a helicopter spawn. Might be just me but those who do have access to Police/EMS helicopters may have the need for them while in the Paleto area (prime example being someone down on Chiliad) and running all the way to Sandy to get it is a waste of time. Remove local helicopters from Central roof. Remove the abilities for local helicopters to spawn, at least on the helicopter garage. As an EMS pilot there have been times where I go to clock off at central and/or restock and I can't land my helicopter safely/put it away because a local's helicopter has spawned. Player owned food trucks. Allow players to buy a food truck and sell food out of it to other players/locals. Similar to meth make it so players have to buy a cooking kit and the ingredients. Then they cook it similar to growing weed and depending on how they do they get different amounts of product. Then have the ability to deal these products to locals or sell them to other players. My suggestion would be to make it so the food is something that can only be made from food trucks (chimichongas for an example) and supplies a little more food than store bought items. It is a job that isn't the most in demand but sometimes people want to live a simple honest life and run a sandwich shop. Bus driver job. Allow players to drive along a series of predetermined routes and get paid for it based on being timely such as not too early or too late. Could use a waypoint system such as in a GTA race. It is a job that isn't the most in demand but sometimes people want to live a simple honest life and this could also be a means of transporting some players around by putting stops at popular areas or areas such as the "Starter Subway".
  7. I am currently roleplaying as a Gruppe6 Security guard that patrols all the Illegal areas. One obvious downside to this RP is that im getting paid the default rate, $200. If this could become an actual Job then I would like to see that the pay is around possibly $700 to $1000. I don't want this job to be as well paying as the cops. Another reason why I think that this could be a good job to have in game is because whilst im canvasing the illegal sites it means that the cops don't have to patrol those areas leaving them more opportunity to catch other bad guys. It would also add an extra risk to the guys doing the illegal drug jobs as they will have people actively patrolling the sites that they use. Thats the basic things I would want added. The following things are more for immersion sake. Just like the Emergency jobs have special Vehicles, it would be nice to see this job have special vehicles. Ofcourse even if the jobs gets them it wouldn't mean they are exempt from all road laws after all they aren't Government jobs, they are private sector jobs. Below are links to a few mods that i would suggest. https://www.gta5-mods.com/paintjobs/gruppe-6-security-project https://www.gta5-mods.com/paintjobs/gruppe-6-security-vehicle-skin https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1186958443  Please reply with other possible ideas for this job suggestion, and reply with whether or not this would be a good RP job.
  8. would be awsome to have a similar job to trucking but as a pilot doing deliveries around the airports, and since its 200k for license and then buy the plane, the payout could be a bit better than trucking!
  9. I think it'd be a cool idea to add in a lawyer type job for when people get arrested. They can turn around and be like "I'd like a lawyer" and the cops could have a button on their menu that would put out an alert to all the lawyers and one of them could pick it up. Pay could vary pending on whether or not the lawyer is able to get their client off with a charge, reduce their sentence or fail the case entirely. Â What do you guys think?
  10. Hello guys, I'm making my first post and have choosen this section since I'm very excited seeing how well scripted the Badlands RP server is and maybe this suggestion could fit with the server and could help to keep improving the server which is already great and plenty of activities. This is a re-post from another community where I've been suggesting this idea I had, hoping that you like the idea I wait for your feedback to update the original post and discuss about. I have more ideas I'll be posting later too!  Weazel News Reporters Concept brief: The main idea is that you have to drive the Weazel's News van (or a Boxville truck instead?) through the city to refill the newspapers vendor machines (or probably just the stores). Also, there would be different positions that allows you to be a Journalist (news reporter) and use an emote to take pictures with the camera, add to that the ability to hire paparazzis to get pictures of an specific person allowing other players to become paparazzis as freelancers and as another position some players could pilot the helicopter to report the traffic and other relevant events around the city. Different positions provides different incomes but depending on the assigned tasks for each different job the time it takes to finish each of these would be balanced to ensure balanced incomes, although hierarchical positions involves more responsability which would be translated in better incomes.. Note: The helicopter should stay limited only for some sort of whitelisted members or a player who demonstrated his commitment with the server to avoid abuses. If there's no need of being so strict then it would be just limited to 1 or 2 helicopters at once while the hierarchical job position should allow only 2 or 3 vacancies per session to become on-duty for the specific job position while there'll still be as many journalists/news reporters as you want. Weazel News building: ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Weazel News van ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Newspaper vendor machines: ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Traffic Report Helicopter Note: this is a mod that would be needed to incorporate to the server, otherwise the regular Maverick would fit just perfectly. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Weazel News building location Lindsay Circus & Palomino Av., Little Seoul. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Job Positions:  Paperboy  Journalist  Paparazzi  Traffic Reporter   ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Average Incomes: To do/Need suggestions ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Description:  Paperboy: Your job starts at the Weazel News building's garage where you get the van and you load it out with boxes which contains the newspapers. (I also think maybe the Boxville/Bimbo truck could fit way better for this but I'm not sure about the available skins which could break immersion.) Once you get in the van you get the first waypoint to deliver the newspapers at the vendor machines around the city. Each box should last at least 5 or 10 drops and the overall load could be around 4 or 5 boxes so you can start a new run once you depleted your load.  Journalist: If you already completed the Paperboy job several times maybe that would get you promoted to gain access to the option of become a Journalist but this position could also be attached to an application form to apply on forums in order to be approved for the job. (This would be to ensure the player will stick to a proper roleplay behavior at all time although there shouldn't be a specific limit of vacancies for the position in my opinion.) When you are a Journalist you can get the van at the Weazel News building but this time you won't be able to start the Paperboy job and instead you'll just have the option to turn on-duty to report any events around the city which will also enable some blips in your radar to alert you of relevant events. This job does not provides any waypoints to follow but instead it will give you alerts about different events that may be happening around the city such as gunshots, robberies, traffic accidents, injured people, police operations, other crimes that are also reported to the police, fire department and EMS services, as long as for roleplay purposes any player's announced events such as parties and other kind of meetings might be encouraged to be reported. The possibilities here are infinite. Maybe once you reach an area from one of the alerts your incomes might raise a little bit to encourage the presence of the Journalists in the area. You're compiled to report the events through the /breaking news channel to improve the RP quality of the server anyways.  Paparazzi: To become a Paparazzi you need to be hired by a Journalist who will assign you different objectives (relevant characters such as gang members or celebrities) that you will need to find, follow and report and a the payment would be set aswell by the Journalist who will have a fixed budget assigned by the company. (Similar to assigning hitman rewards as seen in some RP servers before) To do this the Journalist could be able to select a player and without specifying where exactly the person is, you'll have to follow any possible hints you can get In-Character to find your target, once you find it you must aim your camera (crosshair) at him and get an specific amount of pictures in a determined amount of time. You could get a motorcycle for this job or simply use your own vehicle (I think a motorcycle still fits better and makes the chances more even for every involved player). There is no limit on how many Paparazzis the Journalist can hire (assign the task) and only the first to get the task done will receive the payment once he reports back with the Journalist at a specific location. We could say this is like some sort of treasure hunt I think.  Traffic Reporter: The Traffic Reporter is in charge of piloting the helicopter and report the traffic and other events through the /breaking news channel that the players have the option to turn on or off as their desire. There would be only 3 vacancies for this job and every Traffic Reporter has to be in the helicopter in order to receive their payment. Also the Traffic Reporters gets alerts about possible events of interest as the Journalist does and its at the discretion of the Journalist the assignment of the most relevant events that he wants to have the helicopter to report but only withing the RP criteria. This means that you can fly around the city as you want (sticking to RP rules and making sure you provide and entertaining time for everyone by reporting the news in the /breaking news channel) but as Traffic Reporter you are still under the Journalist orders. The application for this job might be through forums although if there are no Traffic Reporters online the Journalists could be able to do the task only if there are no players online assigned to the job. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Mechanics: (Or what the script would be about) A /breaking news chat channel would be needed in order to have the news broadcast server wide and players should have the ability to choose if they want to turn on or off the /breaking news. The payment for each job its at the discretion of the developers/admins and experienced members of the community, please feel free to make your suggestions about this here. For the Paperboy job we only need the basic mechanics we have in the Truck Driver jobs and simply adjust it to provide a Weazel News van at the mentioned building and give some chat messages with instructions for the player. Then there should be a bunch of waypoints set among the newspaper vendor machines or stores around the city providing enough of these to ensure the time it takes to finish a round of deliveries is something about 10 minutes and once you deplete your load of newspapers you can drive back to the buildings where you refill the truck which could be maybe more than just the main Weazel News building in the downtown. We could stick to the metropolitan area for this task, although the activation of the job might be manual so if the player wants to drive to Sandy Shores or Paleto Bay areas he can start over there and get a different route which means we could have some different routes for this job and even a couple of different spots to refill the van/truck. (Or could these be just random checkpoints that are generated near the player's location?) For the Journalist job we need to set the same alerts that the emergency services usually gets and provide some help for the player to find the locations. Also the Journalist should have a menu or a set of commands that allows him to assign some sort of "reward" over a player of his choice (considered a celebritie or relevant civilian or criminal) and assign a player or a group of players who are able to get a /tweet notification as if they were the Paparazzis getting info about a relevant person they have to follow. The proper assignment of the task could be something like /paparazzi [ID of the target player] [Payment $] [Hints about the possible location or area to look for him] (The hint could be optional?) Then it returns a message asking the Journalist to assign as many players as he wants where he could do something like /assign [player ID] and once he finish picking his Paparazzis he just type something else like /start or just /assign end, or whatever fits better so the "hired" pkayers gets an alert that there's a reward in place for such photographies the Journalist wants to get. As Paparazzi we'd need the ability to aim to the assigned target/player and press the interaction button which would return a chat message saying something like "/[player] took a picture" and maybe a timer which might be set by the Journalist or can be just at a fixed amount of time like 5 or 10 minutes. Also the Journalist has the option to send /tweet messages to every other Journalists and Traffic Reporter (or maybe instead of tweeter just a private chat channel for them?) in order to report strictly IC any events they want to spread the voice about. This way the Journalist would be requesting the pilot of the helicopter to quickly reach an area while he travels in his car or the news van to the target spot. At last, the Traffic Reporter same as the Journalists , gets chat alerts with the relevant events in the city and map blips with access to spawn the helicopter at the heliport near the Weazel News building in case it is not already there. Other Traffic Reporters might be able to fly with him and the Traffic Reporters are the only ones with access to a /breaking news announcements channel which broadcast messages for every player that choose to have the /breaking news channel open. The color would be different and pretty showy to catch the eye when they report. Also I've found there's a script for a functional Helicopter camera which would be just great to have.  ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Overview/Objective: The main goal of this is to enrich the RP experience for every player in the server and not only the ones who are playing the role of this jobs and add a more immersive interaction between players. In addition, someone could take the role as the Weazel News Director in order to have a post on forums with all the details and maybe make of this idea a business that allows a experienced player to lead the reporters faction where they get an stable income which could be also attached to the activity. Other related possibilities: Something else that could be done in relation with this is the access to the newspaper from your cellphone and even buying it from the store or at the vendor machines. By reading the newspaper you could have a list of available jobs and its locations and probably you could also choose a job you're interested in and get a waypoint set in your GPS to follow the path to the job starting point. Also it could be nice if players could put an add that last as long as they are in the session to promote their services. Even illegal activities might be announced or requested on a totally undercover way. In addition, if it would be possible to have access to different sections of the newspaper we could have some commands to browse not only jobs but also the available houses, another section to find relevant shops (like car shops, etc) and such  The End I could keep going into details but I think this has become too long and I feel there's already more than enough to think about the idea and see how feasible and desirable a job like this might be as same as if it is possible to do it from a deves perspective. (Which obviously I don't have ) I wait for your feedback from everyone around, specially regular players and not only devs/admins/staff, let's get involved in this guys and bring your opinions, critics or corrections that you may want to add to my post if you feel something like this could be and deserves to be implemented and I'll be updating this post with your suggestions. Regards! Â
  11. Howdy Ya'll- I've been playing on this 'ere server for a couple days now, and I think I've gots a solid suggestion. How bouts we get ourselves a job, much like the delivery man- but it's freight and freightliners goin' to an fro Los Santos to Sandy Shores and them surroundin' areas. Something like 2-4k a trip, and vehicle damage will remove some of the reward. The more damaged the truck is, the less you get paid. It'd be a as simple as kissing ur sister under a star filled sky, more rewardin' too! Now, I might be just a simple man, livin' a simple life, but- I reckon that's a darn good tootin' idea of mine. We have the delivery system already, why not some big O'l trucks with trailers? Make one of them trucks pretty expensive too, cuttin' down on them rude, maniac drivers. I knows it's a lot to ask fer, but Cleatus sure does love truckin' and I sure do enjoy this server, however early we are in her infancy. I wish eryone who reads this a heavenly day, and hope you are blessed with pocket tacos. -Cleatus Woodridge        Â
