I've played a decent chunk of hours and there's certainly a lot to do, but it just seems slow to me. Skyrim was well before it's time, but Starfield gameplay is like Elder Scrolls: Online gameplay. Just seems drawn out and generally dry. There are also excellent games out there for space battles and general travel (star citizen, no man's sky, E:D, etc), but Starfield lacks even basic principles of a space-based game. I know I can play and choose my own progression, but I need needs, and wants. However, Story....legit. I've watched more people play story.
