I would try the following: 1) Sign out of FiveM and Steam completely. Start steam -> launch fivem -> try joining server. 2) If the above doesn't work then try restarting computer->launching steam->launching fivem. 3) Also you can try signing out of steam and then logging back into steam and then launching fivem. Trying these troubleshooting steps should yield positive results, it has worked for others who have experienced this error.
