The process of starting off...

Recommended Posts

I love that you have to take a test to get your license and that you have to buy your license, but it creates a real catch 22 situation.

You need $5000 to buy a license. To get money you need a job. To be effective at your job you need a car. To get a car you need a license. To get a license you need money...

Perhaps the vehicle license place can be closer to where you take your test, and maybe there can be jobs where you can make money without a vehicle being a basic requirement. Also, maybe the cost of the license could be lowered? $5000 is rather steep. Since I didn't know about the cost, I ran from the testing location to the airport and I've been hanging around the airport, just running around checking out things, patiently earning my welfare check of $200, until I have $5000 because I really don't want to have to run all the way back again.

I agree it's pretty "hard" to get the license, but it's not too expensive imo. You can collect some peaches and you don't need a car for that. You get a free bicycle, use that to go to peach fields, collect a full inventory of peaches, sell them and you should already have 5k in your pocket. :)

Yeah, but I'm all the way down at the airport and the peach orchard is way far north from there and the bikes aren't persistent apparently so every time you go on you have to find the subway and get another one. :(

These are all transportation options that are available to you. Our community is pretty good about helping new people get started. All you have to do is ask.

I tried the taxi. No taxi drivers online apparently.
