So for a while police have had the Heavy Pistol/1911 for specifically cops, As much as it sucked the answer we were given was its because it has a red dot and only certain officers can use it, the question now is since everyone has aiming dots now could Civs get the 1911 as well? some, including myself favor the 1911 platform (I own 3 IRL don't @ me fam) I get the argument of power but lets be real If crims/Civs fought cops with the heavy pistol it would be an improvement from what they already go up against. I personally just don't see the use in gating weapons now that it literally comes down to peoples ability to shoot and not some advantage. Even if a skin was used for a different gun to make it a 1911. My man just needs his old mans gun you know?

I would love to see an actual 1911 model in the server, they're great guns.

The Mk2 is just as good as the heavy pistol, honestly. I know this because I have both PD and Crim characters. Literally the same. It's just all about how you shoot.

^ I am going to agree with this though, i too have a crim char and it is fairly easy to shoot down cops with an Mk2 pistol. Especially now with a crosshair.

Can't we just reskin the vintage pistol to the 1911 model? Not sure why the heavy pistol is brought into this conversation. Other than the fact it looks similar but its supposed to be more like a deagle not a M11911 As its not a 1911. And tbh the vintage is pretty much already the GTA equivalent to that firearm.  While we are at it. Reskin the PD pistol to a Glock.

Just based on GTA Online damage metrics the heavy pistol outclasses every other pistol. It has a lower rate of fire because of recoil but has higher damage per shot. It has a double stacked magazine with eighteen bullets so it has the capability of firing more rounds before empty. Range and accuracy are way better than the other pistols, specifically the Vintage. Vintage Pistol isn't necessarily bad, but it is not the equivalent to the heavy pistol. Vintage Pistol has a magazine of seven, faster fire rate, and lower per shot damage.

Mechanically it's hard to really compare damage numbers from GTAO to a custom RP server that has probably increased and decreased damage, accuracy, and range accordingly. Some things said in the thread seem to be wrong, but again the gun statistics could be wildly different than the information I'm about to show.

The following info is taken from a website called 'gtabase.com' which has a detailed statistics page for the weapons of GTAO.

Heavy Pistol

  • Damage = 40
  • Fire Rate = 40
  • Accuracy = 50
  • Range = 35
  • Magazine Size = 18 (it shows 20, but I believe that is the score system not the actual bullet count)

Vintage Pistol

  • Damage = 35
  • Fire Rate = 40 (this seems incorrect because just shooting each firearm you can tell the vintage shoot a little faster)
  • Accuracy = 40
  • Range = 25
  • Magazine Size = 7 (shows 6 but again, this is the score system not the actual bullet count)

MK2

  • Damage = 38
  • Fire Rate = 40 (this also seems incorrect as most know MK2 is borderline the best legal option to protect yourself within BLRP)
  • Accuracy = 40
  • Range = 25
  • Magazine Size = 10 (now I know this is a point system since the mk2 holds 12 bullets)

Desert Eagle

  • Damage = 51
  • Fire Rate = 40 (as you can tell, lots of GTAO information is not great at representing the truth)
  • Accuracy = 55
  • Range = 35
  • Magazine Size = 8 (9 round bullet cap)

As you can see the only negative to the Heavy Pistol is it's low(ish) rate of fire. Everything else it does is better than the other available pistols. By the numbers alone it looks as though civilians/criminals may have an upper-hand with using the Desert Eagle but as many members know...it's more of an illusion. It may see more use now with the addition of the server-wide crosshair, but time will tell.
The two reasons I can think of as to why this is being brought up and others might have brought it up in the past is for the sake of some level of balance, and freshness to the community.

Everyone uses the gun of their choice to conduct shootouts and what have you. Many like the MK2, regular pistol, and some use the SNS. But after a while...you want to acquire, test, and use a new one. It's a new, fresh experience to the server. The balancing act would be a heavy pistol equivalent. Most of the LEOs currently use the Heavy as if it was the standard issue pistol. The frequency at which I have seen the Heavy brandished, pointed, and fired at me is damn near ninety percent.

As of right now, do I believe we need a new addition to the criminal arsenal immediately? No. Should it be worked on, tested, and rolled out when it feels like the pistol is near or at the equivalent to the Heavy? Absolutely. The Vintage, MK2, and Deagle are outclassed by the Heavy. The Heavy has better damage, better accuracy, and longer range than said pistols which leads many to feel as though it is a little overpowered.

To have an even playing field with an illegal or possibly a LEGAL match to the most used Pistol on PD could keep gun fights fresh and exciting.
