New mumble voice

I find this new chat method highly ineffective as it makes it harder to hear others on radio because they’re too muffled and my volume is on 100. Teamspeak made everything so much clear hopefully we can switch back

I'm not having this issue, I find everything with Mumble VOIP great at the moment.

Given the day one success, it's unlikely we will return to Teamspeak. The goal is to continue to tweak Mumble and never look back

I think it's alright. What I liked with teamspeak was how we could easily play music with a plugin. Can still do this with mumble, just have to do it with the virtual cable and all that. whatever works best for the server. Would be cool to be able to listen in on two channels at once. IDK if this is possible though.

Mumble working fine for me. I, and others, have had some initial setup issues, but all was worked out easily and everything is sounding good.
Using a voice changer required a different approach, but such is life.

Personally I have no issues with Mumble at least not large enough to want to go back to TeamSpeak however I will say I miss being able to have a phone call with someone and using my radio/voip to talk to others at the same time. IE on a phone call discussing where we are going to meet and talking to others on radio or in person while on the phone as with Mumble if you use your radio while on a phonecall they can hear you speaking to your radio.. Also had a difficult time trying to rob the Digi Den at MRPD last night propped the door open with a pylon, a police barricade (the door went right through the barricade) and of Crouse used our bodies to open the door and hold it ultimately we had to stand one of us outside/one of them inside to talk to one another. Perhaps a door wedge of some kind could be made to keep the doors open?

Has been pretty smooth for me so far, think it’s just going to be some growing pains and getting used to the differences. 
 

However one of the guys in our group is dealing with a bad case of our voices echoing through his mic and back to us. Tried adjusting volumes and such but no luck. Any suggestions?

Get noise cancelling headphones would be my suggestion. If thats not an option, make sure ptt is enabled (everyone should do this anyway) and try not to talk when others are speaking.

I haven't had issues, it' something you'll get used to but this is a huge amazing improvement from the last time I personally tried to do it with Serpico. Props to them for getting it to work with how it is now.

From the little I’ve been in the city it seems to be working a lot better then the last time it was tried. +1 to echos when talking to someone in a parking garage.

Whispering can be worked on as the distance is clearly not whispering distance. Then can we get the radio to save the volume? Also, we are going to see a huge numbers of dannys and people who dont give a fuck because they are able to join in without having teamspeak in their face. Hopefully, we can get something like that back to just filter out the people who actually want to RP.

I feel the only way to fight Danny's would be by whitelisting the server, though ngl the Danny's add character, wouldn't want to have to miss them.

Personally I enjoy Mumble. I think its a little more realistic and adds to the RP aspect. Radio works how a radio should without having to install a plugin of sorts to make it sound like a radio. As someone said above about the whole phone call/radio situation, it is kinda strange. But I think in due time it'll be fixed. Otherwise, great success with mumble. works fine for me.

We've already seen staff monitoring the danny station, though one of the goals I'm sure with the change is to get more players in general. Sure it works as a block, I totally agree but at the same time good people will instantly leave when they see the teamspeak requirement; or they play on another server that requires them not to use teamspeak so they don't join because they constantly have to toggle between the two. Overall we want to get more players, and while some of them will be bad some will be good too.

At reboot, phone and radio volume will be cached locally. You can also change the radio volume by opening the radio UI, pressing shift, and pressing the Vol- or Vol+ buttons
