TiLLeR Posted February 28, 2018 Report Posted February 28, 2018 Quote Police can add mandatory fines when sending players to prison. You will never go in the negative. LSPD: Follow direction on usage form your SOP's I would like to highlight this change so that it catches few people by surprise.  There are now Restitutional charges associated with Felonies.  Restitutional charges are a criminals debt to society for their crimes.  For example, if you commit Armed Robbery you'll have a restitutional fine (mandatory) of 10k.  In addition you'll have the choice to pay 20k or spend 20 months in jail.  The mandatory fines will take the money directly from your account but will never put you into negatives. The goal of this change is to encourage roll play while also providing a tangible consequence to those who commit the largest crimes.  PO's have always had the ability to discount Infraction and Misdemeanor charges.  They'll also have the ability to discount restitutional charges based on the RP/Story. As with all changes we'll monitor this policy change and adjust as needed.  Please feel free to reach out with any questions. 3

With this system i feel like robberies should get a slight buff, not too much though. I get that it was low because you could just take the jail time, but i dont see many people doing it much knowing that they'll still be losing money even after jail time.
TiLLeR Posted February 28, 2018 Report Posted February 28, 2018 That's fair feedback... the risk/reward for a store robbery does seem a bit out of balance.  They payout was small as we did not want robberies to be seen as a source of income but a means to drive an RP scenario.  I'll take this one back to the staff team and we'll also keep an eye on it.  Thank you for the thought. 2
