Kyle Smyth
I'm sure that this subject has already been brought up before but I figured I'd post my thoughts on the impound lot system here to see if anything can be done to fix this flawed system. Â The Impound lot currently, as we all know from experience, instantly impounds your vehicle as soon as you log out while forgetting to put your car in the garage, when your client crashes, when the server crashes or restarts as well as when the cops put it there (Actual RP). The problem with this system is that 3/4 of these can't be helped but yet we are stuck paying $5000 each time this happens. This can be a lot of money for a new player and completely void all the work that they have put in trying to pick and fill their trunk with peaches. I find the current system to be not very role play at all considering that crashing isn't a choice and can't be helped. In my opinion, when a player either crashes, logs out or the server crashes the players car should be sent automatically to the Garage and not the Impound lot, this would make playing much more enjoyable and sensible. Â I hope that this post gets read by the right people and not just brushed aside as I think a lot of people would be happy with this change. Â Thanks, Kyle Smyth, The Super Awesome Cool (SaC)

When client crashes, it doesn't impound your car instantly either (in most cases). If it's in a populated area, it will be there when you get back to the server and if you were driving it, it's probably somewhere around because sometimes when your character turns into AI it just keeps on driving with your car. And, every at restart it resets your cars to the garage as far as I know. At least it should reset the lost cars. 2 hours ago, Kyle Smyth said: The problem with this system is that 3/4 of these can't be helped So, with this system 1/4 of these situations can't be helped and it's the one when you crash and that's really unfortunate. 2 hours ago, Kyle Smyth said: I hope that this post gets read by the right people and not just brushed aside as I think a lot of people would be happy with this change. I agree it sucks when your game crashes and you lose your vehicle and if possible I would like to see something implemented for that, but it's probably hard to do. dK_
As far as i know vehicles despawning has to do with how fivem/gta5 handles loading the map, so if there's no players in an area things "deload" i guess is the way to put it. So if you're vehicle is there and there's no player close enough to load that part of the map your vehicle despawns. Since this is an issue with the base game im unsure how much to dev team could do to fix it.

BrandonM
Yeah, last night there were multiple people that had to pay $5,000 three times in a 20 minute period because the entire server would lose connection. Â I think that until a system is implemented to assess the difference between someone just leaving their car somewhere underpopulated and a game crash, cars should return to the garage and the withdraw fee should be more expensive. Gambino
This is a known issue with a fix being worked on I believe, best thing to do is be patient and submit bug reports to help the devs sort it. If you crash, always check the surrounding area as your vehicle may despawn, but may also have rolled away. I suffer from crashes quite regularly, I either just pay the fee or use another car, whatever works with the RP scenario.
iDezzy
I can agree. Last night, I happened to be one of those people that had to retrieve my car from the impound lot twice due to the server crash. The third time, I just left it there because I didn't want to spend another 5k. I would also like to mention that for some odd reason, after purchasing a Furore GT a couple nights ago I've had some weird bug occur. Anytime I store my car into the garage, when I try to retrieve it again it tells me I have previously pulled the vehicle out and I have to go get it out of the impound again. That has happened at least three times so far. I am unsure if anyone else is having this issue.

I'll submit a report for sure, just in case anyone else is having the same issue the admins can check it out.
