Prison Suggestion

I know gone are the days that people are sent to prison without a phone but it still happens accidentally quite often. Maybe the ability to use the phone to call a taxi would be pretty helpful.

Along with this, It would be awesome to be able to call any lawyers on duty via this phone to come and talk about charges if you felt you were sent unlawfully.

I agree with this as well. My character has been told numerous times we are not allowed to have phones. Also it would be nice to have an ATM in jail as DOC is rare and some inmates go down to starvation.

Phone still should be removed, and I think it should stay that way imo. The reason for that is to encourage more expansive rp around the prison instead of afk in a cell on the phone. Having to go back and forth around the prison to visitation, this is all stuff that should breed rp within the prison.

In a prison, there is contraband, and I feel this should still be a thing. Instead of allowing phone in, I think there should be ways for prisoners to be more independant in how they obtain things within the prison itself, maybe you can pay someone to smuggle a phone in, maybe theres a % chance to find a burner phone while doing some jobs etc. Id like to see more stuff like that to open up RP instead of limiting stuff for convenience.

+1 I like the idea of expanding the pay-phone usage.

I also really dig the idea of smuggling phones, radios, and other useful items into the prison. I'm curious if there are other mechanics that could be implemented to introduce more contraband. I feel like a commissary with mundane items that you could "trade" in the prison for contraband throughout the prison would be pretty cool (e.g. Trade 15 Oreos to a guard for booze, which could be traded to someone in the Infirmary for a burner phone, etc.). Plus, a special ATM that lets you withdraw money from your bank but has an hourly limit, that would make money important, but doesn't give rich criminals full run of the commissary.

+1 for sure, the only thing I suggest though, increasing the width of the window's or distance that people have in the visitation area, because while technically no, RP wise you can't pass stuff through those windows, mechanically you can.

As a non-lifer, you don't get hungry or thirsty. There is also free food in there

As for my own thoughts, after having spent extensive time inside the prison as both DoC and a Lifer, I think phones should be allowed, but people need to obtain them. Radios should work, but people should have to obtain them. I don't like the idea of people having instant communication. If DoC is present, they can get them back after they are done. If no DoC are on, they should look around and see if they can find one laying around. If you can't, well, grab a bike.

Uh, when was the last time you tried? Cuz when I went there while Danny Taylor was still in prison, and I did a dna test for him and his uncle, I was able to pass things through.

Being able to pass things through is unintentional, normally your hands will "slip" when trying to pass things through in that general area of visitation.

Yeah, maybe its just because I was ems at the time, not entirely sure. But like I said at the time I was able to. We did it to test it out.

That's exactly it. You're faction. Just like EMS can unlock anyone's house, they also bypass those normal bloackages.

Uhhh don’t think EMS can unlock anyone’s house. Personally haven’t tried it but its highly doubtful. We can’t even unlock prison doors or MRPD.

I did, on accident, I didn't realise you could, but you can, makes sense if someone is downed in their room.
