One type of vehicle per person adjustment

I totally get the idea of one type of vehicle per person however if I wanted to buy and sell them I don’t get why we couldn’t own more than one. Also with the customization that can be done I would like to setup the same vehicles differently. I’m sure this has been talked about before but is there any thought of allowing this?

This has been brought up since dealership was put in the city. For us car dealers we would like to see this feature, mainly because we do car trading. Personally for us we haven't brought this idea up again but maybe this will help get the idea resurface.

I agree with Leeroy that it makes the car dealers job a little weird that I have to deny purchasing a car off a customer because I already own it. It feels counter intuitive that I have to own all the cars to showcase them, but then cant purchase them off people because I own one already.

+1 for the support. I'd personally love to see multiple cars of the same time owned by the same person. Provides opportunity across the board.

This is a feature I'd also like to see, but I'm sure it would require a full rebuild of the script. 

On another server, I had a character who had a couple of the same car, so that I could have them stashed at different garages around the island. 

 

The downside to this, is that people would just have a fleet of vans or box trucks to store their stuff in, which could potentially cheapen/make worthless, storage units and houses. Why pay 200k for a house with lots of storage when you can buy 15 beater vans to store your stuff...

so i am all for this as someone who has been a car dealer in a different state, the addition of this should be purely to those who are working for car dealers ships so they would be the only ones who are allowed to have multiple of the same vehicles, kinda like a dealership inventory rather than it being the salesmans personal stash no only would this mean that your regular civ could not own 10-20 of the same van to negate other storage options but also the car dealers could actually own cars and not worry about if i buy this for myself am i going to be able to buy this off someone if they bring it in.

so when they buy a car lets say that saleman A  already owns a elergy he could then purchase this but instead for himself he would purchase it on behalf of the dealership allowing any dealer to sell that car meaning that dealers would be required to make sure the dealership has the funds to purchase it instead of using their own money, and what could be useful in aiding this is rather than regular transfer slips there would be dealer transferslips which would allow the dealers to use the dealerships funs to purchase a car

The dealerships can have stock of their own, each person does not need to own their own stock.
