Tire Slashing

So I have been thinking about this for a while after seeing it on some other RP servers on YT. I'd like to see a feature where if you are holding a sharp object (Dagger, Knife, Switchblade, Broken Bottle) you can walk up to a vehicle tire and use the third eye to interact with it. You will then get the option to slash the tire. This would play a slow (to balance it) animation which would result in the tire being popped. To balance it even more, it would have a chance to be called in by locals so that cops get alerted. 

Think of it as spike strips for criminals, to slow down or take revenge on someone else. 

Side idea to this:
Perhaps give people the ability to purchase stab proof tires for quite a big price, not sure about that one though.

I don't think it would, cause with that mind set why not get rid of guns, cause people could just shoot tires. Just makes more sense to have the option for sharp objects. And if people are doing it to be disruptive, report it. Same goes for shooting vehicle for no reason.

Although I don't necessarily think being able to stab and slash tires is a bad thing, I have to -1 your logic here.
Guns alert PD, knives don't. The "just report it" thing will get you labeled a snitch really quickly.
I also think things like someone slashing all the tires on all the parked cars at an event would become a thing, like stealing them kind of is now.
If we had the ability to obtain a can of Fix-A-Flat then it might be worth a discussion imho.

EDIT: Oh and we couldn't have some stupid thing like PD having slash-proof tires. That would be ridiculous. If you trips are gonna plus one then face the consequences with the rest of us.

I don't think you read my suggestion, or understood what I mentioned. 

 

1. The tire stabbing would get called in just like it is with gun shots, else it would be easily abused. 

2. A kit to fix a tire is a good idea. 

3. I never said only PD would have slash proof tires, I said that slash proof tires could be purchased by anyone for a heavy price. 

4. I really hope you're not serious about the snitch part, if someone is breaking server rules and being disruptive by slashing tires for no reason you should file a player report against them. Nothing to do with being a snitch.

I may have missed the slash-proof tire suggestion.

Would running around randomly slashing tires be a server rule thing? I can see both reason why it should be and shouldn't be.

Like I said above it sounds interesting and i'm all for giving it a shot. I think the admins keep a pretty good eye to not let it get out of hand.

I'm 50/50 on this. A slashing tires tool kind of falls in the same realm as the car bomb, in certain cases it can lead to some really interesting RP, but the rest of the time it's not really going to initiate RP from both sides unless you get caught. On the other hand, it's not necessarily going to get someone killed like with the car bomb, so what's a little forced trip to the repair shop? I really see the potential for it to be used as a good RP mechanic. Sure, it could be abused, but that can be said for any RP tool, it's just up to the staff team to decide if it's worth the effort.

Plus, just gotta add... returning to an ambulance with slashed tires on a particularly stressful EMS shift would probably make me end my shift right then and there.

For that very reason I feel the ambulance should have slash proof tires standard, EMS has no reason to have their tires slashed. Not like civs/crims and PD

Going to stick to a -1 for now. Maybe in a whitelist only future. With the server public, I only see toxic use.

I looked at everything and I'm really gonna lean on the -1 side. I would love to agree with the +1, but I think having it be a public server makes it more of a dice roll of if people are going to abuse it and make it toxic or if it gets used strategically with rp intent. If it was an added feature, I do agree with a local report like a shots fired and also a way for both civs and pd to have tire kits where it could be used as a third eye function and looks like how you repair a car. 

I would love to do tire slashing to mess with friends as a joke, but it scares me too much thinking of the possibilities people can use this in a malicious way not even in rp. 

If it was added and used in an rp way, I think it would be a great addition to the server.

Love the idea. But as people have pointed out, in a public server it will most definitely be abused. -1 for now
