Popular Post Matthew King
With recent additions of the Diamond Casino, it really has attracted a lot of members of the community and brought suspenseful and interactive scenarios as the members gamble with one another against the dealer. Now, the economy of the server is a very vital point to be on the lookout for. Recently the max bet for Black Jack was changed from $20,000 per bet to $1,000. Obviously, the casino was once removed due to the influx of players winning consistently and making it a source of income, so it makes sense that the staff team would keep a short leash to the values and monitor it closely. Now if you ask me, I think $1,000 per bet isn't really much or worth betting as it would take at least 10 games if you're lucky, with respect to the timer on each round to make $10,000. A fair cap in my opinion would be at least around $5,000-$10,000. Now, obviously this change was made as it might have been seen as destructive to the economy. So! an Idea @Spartanhad was, maybe introducing an official LEGAL limit to gambling which would let say be, $5,000 [This is just an example] in the public Diamond Casino and having Illegal gambling setup in gangs in secret locations that allows the cap to be higher than 5k. I think this can bring more Interactions, suspense, incentive and motive to the server as it gives both PD and Criminals more things to do and immerse the community in such unique roleplay. I highly believe this will facilitate a lot of Character stories and make them way more engaging and value. I Surely would love what you guys think about this and would be more than happy if all the community members who are interested in Casino Gambling would construct a chain of thoughts here so we can achieve the best possible enjoyable gambling RP that would not pulverize the economy. AtomicGinger
I personally feel the gun was jumped on this decision. While I do like King's suggestion, I also think the 20k limit should stay. I'm sure the decision was made because of the massive influx of folks going and gambling and winning a lot of money because they were dropped 20k a pop. Imo, let them. It's a risk they're willing to take and that very risk is what makes it exciting for everyone at the table. They could lose that money just as easily as they could win it back. If folks want to make gambling their main source of income, I say let them! If it's a risk they're willing to take, why take that away from them. Lowering the max to 1k seems too low and doesn't make the games all that exciting in my opinion. But when you're down to your last 10, 15, or 20k and you decided "it's either we win or we walk!" that adds suspense to the table you're sitting at. Not just for you, but for the folks you're playing with. Everyone's rooting for each other in those moments and I feel it's been taken away with this change. Honestly, the casino is just new and that's why you see a lot of folks going there and playing. Sure we've had a "casino" all along but nothing nearly as immersive or interactive as this. Like with every new feature, once it's "newness" wears off you'll likely see folks going there less and less.

I spent about 60k first day on bets and lost about all of it. I made bets like 5k 10k and 15k and lost pretty much every time. It's all luck of the draw. Max bets being 1k is honestly to low and that makes it less appealing to go to the casino as you are going to have to play at least 10 hands and winning everyone to make any profit worth going there. I think 20k max bets should return. Is it really that bad that someone can make a decent amount of money on a gamble??? I don't really see how this would hurt the economy on the server to be honest.
Sam
Let me quickly clear up some misconceptions here, the casino is player owned. The concept is that when casino staff is present the betting max will be high, but it's set to 1k when there is no casino staff as a balance for having it open 24/7. This was not a decision made because people were making money, or with the economy in mind. Don't worry you'll be able to bet large amounts just not all the time. 3
