PD first aid ability to reduce stress on EMS

Sometimes cops can be on scene with a minor scene where individuals have suffered very minor injuries such as falling a small height and/or just being punched but they RP out that they feel okay really.

I was wondering whether it could be beneficial to give PD the ability to get downed individuals up off their feet for use in these minor injury circumstances to help reduce the strain on ems.

Especially with the recent increase in gang violence it seams EMS are having quite the struggle with calls backing up.

Looking for opinions from civs, PD and EMS on whether you guys feel like this would be beneficial or if its taking away RP from the ems.

PD use to have the ability to do this way back in the day. We also had a "cert" type that essentially allowed them to render medical...kinda. PD having any ability for medical would render EMS to having nothing to do, therefore I would have to be a hard no. I think we have come a LONG way from BLRP 1.0 to BLRP 2.0. Even so now, its only a radio request away to transport a suspect on your own.

I can give some insight from both the PD and EMS standpoint.

This would cause quite a few problems for both the LSFD AND LSPD. If PD are able to render medical aid, people would start calling PD for medical calls when there's no LSFD available; Whilst I see no problem with this from an RP standpoint, people will start calling PD as opposed to EMS for that "quick, simple roleplay" after someone "fell over" Not to mention, it's easy for someone to say "they fell over" after they've been shot 20 times.

EMS already struggles with getting interactions in the quieter hours so I don't necessarily agree with potentially giving more oppurtunities to avoid EMS roleplay by allowing police to render medical aid.

I'd say we have a pretty good process currently, we (EMS) are working on getting better about letting PD know when to transport. I agree with Sheev on injuries, it's rare that the person has gone completely down just for minor injuries that would warrant an instant revive...

Perhaps the ability to administer CPR the way EMS can to add time to the "Bleeding Out" timer? Which could definitely be something that that EMS could "train" officers in for certification.

If an individual is going down, their injuries more than likely aren't minor. I believe it would be beneficial for LEOs to have training to treat injuries of downed individuals to keep them alive while waiting for EMS to arrive (stop the bleed, etc.) but being able to revive should be left to EMS.

Moving or treating downed individuals is the job of EMS, just like IRL. It doesn't make any sense for PD to do either, especially when EMS already has a hard time finding interaction and RP. It also is part of the pay structure. Like mentioned above, you can transport with permission and that is already enough for most situations.

We used to have something like this.  It was not a good idea imo.  It caused a lot of issues.

EMS are growing often and if none are around or they are too busy people do get transported by PD with permission from LSFD.

I came from a place where this was commonplace, and cops started being treated as revivebots and a very watered down version of EMS, and 100% people begin to use the "I fell down" excuse. I understand the frustration of there being no active EMS, but my suggestion would be perhaps if there are no EMS on duty, life alert pings police who can respond and transport them to a hospital if resources are available.
