Popular Post speed Posted October 29, 2017 Popular Post Report Posted October 29, 2017 This week's patch isn't super exciting in terms of new content, but the changes made here should result in an overall increase in quality of RP, as well as a decrease in rule breaking. This will be in conjunction with some rule changes we're still working on based on your feedback. Added Driving School Department of Licensing Air Shop AI driven trains (because we wanted to, ok) Changed The player menu has received a facelift (thanks @Serpico) The Peach Field is no longer producing genetically modified (unlimited) peaches. However, they do grow faster than they did previously. The garage will now charge you a storage fee to retrieve your vehicles. The fee is 1% of the value of your vehicle, up to $1000. Alcohol now stays in your system significantly longer (2 minutes per drink) The trucking company will no longer give you their spare change for completing a job (they now round to the next dollar) Fixed Multiple bugs and exploits Removed For more information on these changes, please visit the following link: 9 4

Skillzonwheels Posted October 29, 2017 Report Posted October 29, 2017 Love the patch, keep up the good work.
ysauzi Posted October 30, 2017 Report Posted October 30, 2017 License is cool and good and stuff but paying to get our cars out for 1K is a bit much atleast charge us  the same price of a vehicle repair kit. Peaches are now not one of the best ways to earn money too so we have to use another method.
Fat Stacks Posted October 30, 2017 Report Posted October 30, 2017 I'm actually kinda mad about peaches, it already pays quite a bit less than trucking and gold. Furthermore, with the new garage fee it is no longer profitable to fill up more than one car. How could anyone possibly think it is OP?
TiLLeR Posted October 30, 2017 Report Posted October 30, 2017 (edited) Peaches requires picking them and driving a mile to sell them.  Other activities such as Gold and Weed require picking, processing and selling and cover a much larger portion of the map to do so.  Looking at the time to gather/process/sell, peaches tend to pay pretty well.  None of the other areas have infinite supply, why should peaches? Yes gold and weed require more work but one gold/weed trip is equal to about 2 and a bit peach trips, obviously weed slightly more. This doesn't sound like too much but from experience it takes quite a while to do the peach runs and I'm fairly sure you make same amount much quicker doing gold. I'll time my runs tomorrow and I'll see whether I'm right or I'm just imagining it lol 1

Peaches are now not one of the best ways to earn money too so we have to use another method. That's the main purpose of adjusting the regeneration for peaches. Other jobs are more profitable and worth the time as you spend more time on the island and purchase vehicles with larger inv capacity. Also $1k is practically nothing for pulling out a vehicle as you get $2400 in paychecks from the GOVT each hour. You can pull out 2 cars $100k+ in value and still not be negative (this is assuming you are not doing any jobs during that hour). I posted this in the Discord relating to the concerns over paying a fee for retrieving a vehicle: "It helps in a lot of aspects. It adds another element of cost to the game (much like buying food and water to survive. You are paying for vehicle storage and repairs). On a small scale (in conjunction with other mechanics) it will help with littering of vehicles all over and it helps with the VDMers and trolls who play bumper cars. Will it solve all problems? Nope. But incremental adjustments like this help address the problem without adversely impacting the overall gam-eplay experience." 1 hour ago, FAT STACKS $$$$ said: I'm actually kinda mad about peaches, it already pays quite a bit less than trucking and gold. Peaches is meant to be a starter job, something a player does to earn their first batch of money to help get settled. It was only increased to "unlimited" to help until we added some more jobs. Part of the problem with it being unlimited was it caused some groups to become more aggressive at the field. I'll give it a small bump on regen but it isn't going back to the rapid pace of replenishment it was temporarily set at.

But about people been aggressive because of that, no. People aggressive with unlimited peaches doesn't make sense, it could make sense if they are limited, because they want to gather them all. But those that killed there while the peaches were unlimited, were just been aggressive without peaches been a reason for it. I was killed just for going there and certainly I still hope the new rules help with people been violent without RP.

Maybe they had too many people to farm at limited areas and would rather control the area of unlimited resource. Maybe they knew a lot more people would gather at peaches because of the regen rate which means more targets/victims. Being violent and killing someone without RP is already against the rules.
Tomas García Posted October 30, 2017 Report Posted October 30, 2017 Just pointing out that the reason wasn't because of the peaches themselves. It was because of big crowds. Sure unlimited peaches moved crowds to the peaches trees.
TiLLeR Posted October 30, 2017 Report Posted October 30, 2017 I disagree Tomas.. I started out doing peaches and it was nice b/c people where there but it was not camped.  People did more than one activity.  When it became infinite people started to camp it which lead to multiple problems: Gangs chasing players (esp new players) away acting like the Peach Pickers Mafia Players AFK collecting b/c it's an easy farm Mule after Mule littering the landscape.  No RP.  Exploding mules b/c they were bored. The level of player complaints of RDM increased in the area The number of crimes reported in the area increased It was an easy farm that made it easier to make money than most other ways (I monitor this stuff a lot)... otherwise why would people be complaining 2
Tomas García Posted October 30, 2017 Report Posted October 30, 2017 @Tiller I think I explained myself wrong or was missread.  I agree with peaches not been always full anymore, For those that know me in game and not only as a cop. Peach field is my second house! At least it was for quite a while since I simply wanted to do a legit work and chose the one that seem to return the most for my time. So I'm happy they are not so boosted anymore. The point that I was making, let's see if I can make it more clear. Number of crimes in the area, RDM in the area, mules blowing up, mule littering the landscape are side effects that will be anywhere that there is a big gathering of people. It might be other type of cars that blow up and litter, but so far the issue won't be fixed by lowering the peach count. I also must say that peaches doesn't make you more aggressive, I eat plenty and they are not like red bull. So lowering spawn might reduce the amount of  things going in that area but instead move it somewhere else, where? I don't know. On the bright side, the addition of the fee to take cares might get people less crazy about pulling too many. But I hope that some kind of tow dynamics come into play soon or maybe a small refund fee if cars are stored. But any dynamic that motivates players to store the cars instead of just leaving them everywhere. Sure that will also reduce explosions a bit. Because now, once you took the car out, the fee is paid, so whenever you get bored there is no motivation to return it safely the garage.
Serpico Posted October 31, 2017 Report Posted October 31, 2017 Hotfix - You must now be outside of a vehicle to  gather/process/sell items. 5

Works like a wonder, just one small issue. If you can fix it would be better.  Right now if you go to a farming/gathering/selling spot and get out of the vehicle you have to run away on foot and enter again. Could you make it so when players exist vehicle checks zone and gives menu if there is one in the area? Also since you are at it... any chance that while on duty cops don't get those menus?  It's a bit bad when arresting someone in those areas and it takes away cop menu. Not big deal in general but nasty if there is several guys and are hostile. (Btw this last request, only if you are very bored, the other will help way more people). 2
Fat Stacks Posted October 31, 2017 Report Posted October 31, 2017 Okay I was going to time everything fully but peaches is so shit it's too painful to do another run. It took me 50mins just to collect a mule + inventory full of peaches($20k)(and yes I was hopping around the trees etc). Regardless of whether or not it should be unlimited I think the balance between peaches and other legal activities is definitely way off.
Tomas García Posted October 31, 2017 Report Posted October 31, 2017 @Fat Stacks I agree but not about peaches only. Either today was farming day or with half server, peaches - gold - weed were depleted. Didn't check Ephedrine. But if that was the case means that only job that could be done for "stable" money was trucking, since the waiting to refill was huge, and sure a good reason to start big turf wars, which I hope they happen for RP reasons, not because players been forced to be hostile to make some money. My advice is to stick with trucking if fields are depleted till the amount of regen is a bit more balanced. Which I think that once admins check it they will realize of it and hopeful fix it. 1
