  1. Server Rules Welcome to Badlands RP! Badlands is a large FiveM roleplay community with members from all over the world. Our rules promote roleplay over gunplay with the goal of creating fun interactions for all players at all times. The rules below promote a fair and balanced gameplay experience for all factions. Our expectation is that every member of our community adheres to these rules. In a roleplay server, the expectation is that you are roleplaying. Your actions, interactions, and behavior should have strong ties to the fictional character that you have created and will be roleplaying as. A great role-player has a character with a unique backstory who specializes in a few things, rather than a jack of all trades. Many people play two or more characters to explore and then focus on the different things our server has to offer. General Rules (GEN) Players must be 18 years of age or older Players must have a working microphone and communicate with English only Players should remain In Character (IC) at all times. If a game breaking issue or rule break occurs, remain in character and role play out the situation - to the best of your ability; a support ticket regarding the issue may be filed after the fact at badlandsrp.com/support/create Players should only use /report to file a player report for an immersion breaking rule issue or overly disruptive individual Players should only use /ooc to ask a question or provide help for RP stopping technical issues Players are responsible for any actions made from their account. If you share, allow, or fail to secure your PC from others, you are still responsible for any actions that occur on your account Players are not allowed to advertise other roleplay servers Real world trading (RWT) Except through the official BadlandsRP Tebex, players are not allowed to purchase items, money, or services in the game using any form of real world currency or compensation Players are prohibited from exchanging Badlands store items, or the promise of gifting such items, for in-game currency or other items of significant value General Behavior (GB) & Disruptive Behavior (DB) Players should not quote or allude to server rules in game Players should not refer to other servers in game Players who use racist, derogatory, anti-LGBTQ+ language, or roleplay sexual assault will be permanently banned Players should not bait the police into a hostile interaction / purposefully draw police into a scenario without any form of meaningful RP (cop baiting) Example: Driving up to the parking lot of a police station and smoking meth, then running away and instigating a pursuit Example: Standing on top of police cars to get a reaction from the police Example: Horn spamming or doing burnouts in front of the police Players should not insert themselves into scenarios or shootouts between other groups or a group and the police as a third party. This includes staff ran events, such as, Merry weather transports Players should not transfer any assets to another player without prior in-character reasoning Players should not engage in harassment of community members Role Play (RP) and Low Quality Role Play (LQRP) Erotic, suicide, miscarriage, and abortion RP are not permitted Your character’s name must be reasonably realistic, appropriate, and must not resemble famous people While downed and incapacitated, players must prioritize roleplaying their injuries. This includes modifying speech patterns to reflect pain or incapacitation and using /me commands to describe injuries Tactical comms are not permitted unless they are of immediate concern to your character, such as while someone is tending to you, or carrying you to safety and you observe someone running up on them, you may tell them to watch out. Not permitted is calling out detailed comms during competitive scenes such as the locations people around corners and roofs. Priority should be on one's own injuries Players should not take another player far out into the ocean and dump them without a valid RP reason Sharing of hidden illegal locations and processes without sufficient roleplay is not permitted In order to rob a player, you must be directly involved and have a valid RP reason to do so. You should not be pocket wiping players (taking most or all of their items), using it as a farming tool, treating players like loot-boxes, serial robbing, or robbing incapacitated players you come upon without having been involved in the scenario Players should not strip other players' vehicles of customizations Players should not kidnap another player for more than 15 minutes without their consent. An absence of objection to being held longer than 15 minutes is considered consent Players should not kidnap or hold EMS/LSFD personnel hostage at any time while they are on duty Players should not kidnap another player while they are locked in a menu (hairdresser, clothing store, banking, Los Santos Customs, etc) Police, DOC, and DOJ (DA's Office and Judges only) corruption is not permitted Players are prohibited from doing a mechanical robbery within 20 minutes of a server reset Players should not engage in behavior that could negatively disrupt the experience of other players. Players should not spam your car horn for the sake of spamming your car horn Players should not purposefully draw police into a scenario without any form of meaningful RP (cop baiting). Example: walking up to a police officer at a police station and smoking meth, then running away. Players should not insert themselves into scenarios or shootouts between other groups or a group and the police as a third party. Players must not transfer any assets to another player without prior in-character reasoning. Asset dumping will result in your character being deleted and the assets transferred being wiped. Random Death Match (RDM) & Vehicle Death Match (VDM) Players should not use violence against another player or group without role play leading up to the event. You must either state a clear and reasonable demand to an intended target, with reasonable time to respond, or there must be adequate RP leading up to the event in such a manner that all parties recognize the sense of tension and hostility Hostile RP is valid for 30 minutes from the point of initiation The use of a ‘hit man’ is not allowed. You are allowed to work with other players to track an individual down, however you are responsible to RP out the scenario yourself. You may use a vehicle to damage/incapacitate another player in immediate, last resort self defense (as in, there is no way to leave an area without driving through/over the person in your way) Vehicles may also be used to escape a barricaded location, or to disable (in a reasonable PIT or barricading way) another player's vehicle during a chase. All other uses of a vehicle as a weapon are prohibited Combat Logging (CL) The following are considered combat logging if done by a player during an active scenario: Disconnecting from the server Re-spawning Using Local EMS Storing a vehicle in a garage to prevent police / other players from accessing it Fleeing inside state provided housing (Downbad, Sandy Motel, Paleto Motel) Fail Role Play (FRP) & Unrealistic Game Play (UGP) Players should not volunteer to be a hostage or ask someone to be a hostage You must not perform actions or utilize game mechanics which would pose a significant threat to your life in situations, nor actions which you would not realistically perform in the real world Exploiting / Use of external programs or scripts Our developers work hard to create a balanced, enjoyable, and fair experience for all players in our community when it comes to game mechanics. The use of external tools OR bugs OR the use of workarounds that give you an advantage in game are considered exploits, which is a rulebreak. You must immediately report any discovered bugs or improperly working game mechanics and not utilize any bugs or improperly working game mechanics to your advantage. The following game modifications are prohibited: Altering textures of blood particle effects to make them more visible (confetti, etc) FOV beyond that permitted by the base game (using Flawless Widescreen or similar programs) Adding permanent bullet tracers Soundpacks which provide players an advantage over others. This includes amplified footsteps, headshot specific sounds, and packs which cause suppressed gunshots to become louder Players must not use macros or scripts to automate functions in a manner which gives an unfair advantage over other players Players must not circumvent the AFK kicker system Players must not transfer money or items between their own characters through any means, nor facilitate such a transfer Meta Gaming Players must not use information gained outside of the game-play environment to their benefit Players are not permitted to be in external communication such as Discord parties with other players while you are in game Players are not permitted to watch or idle in the chat of streams of other players while in server Your characters should be unique and have no relationship to each other, or be part of the same gang or business Power Gaming (PG) Power gaming is the use of in-game mechanics or server rules to gain an unfair advantage over other players, control the narrative, and/or determine the outcome of a situation rather than letting roleplay determine the outcome. We do not support a must win or must lose mentality in BLRP. Your actions should be focused on promoting RP within and outside of your group. You are not allowed to force a condition or belief on others, however you may choose to RP your belief of those situations. This includes: supernatural RP You cannot force a player to permanently kill one of their characters Torture RP is permitted with the consent of both parties Server restarts, timeouts, or disconnects should not be used to change the directions of a RP situation Players should not drop items in areas you know other players cannot search or find them (dropping items out of the map bounds, through walls, etc) Players should not retrieve vehicles from a car garage mid-pursuit with the police Players should not misuse furniture items in houses/warehouses to create a fortress or pixel peeks Players should not lock a property or business to avoid hostile roleplay that has started Value of Life (NVL), New Life Rule (NLR), and Revenge Killing You must value your life at all times and make reasonable attempts to preserve your life in any situation. This includes response to hostile interactions as well as avoiding risks in game which would jeopardize your characters health such as the following: Using radio or phone Activating panic button or alarms Walking away You must follow reasonable demands from a hostile player when you are in an indefensible situation. This doesn't mean that the first person to brandish a weapon gets to control the scenario as players are allowed to defend themselves from hostilities if an appropriate opportunity presents itself Upon incapacitation of a player during hostile RP, neither player may re initiate hostile RP with, or attack the other players, for 60 minutes Players should not intentionally put their life at risk by use their vehicle to block other fast (100mph+) moving vehicle(s) Green Zones (GZ) The following activities are prohibited in all greenzones unless you are in LEO or DOC custody. On duty LEOs and LSFD security are exempt from greenzone rules for the purpose of their jobs. Violence against other players, including robbing or kidnapping Stealing vehicles or stealing from vehicles Selling / trading illegal items Leveraging LEOs to release people from custody Players who flee into the greenzone to escape violence are not protected by this rule, and the hostile party may follow the fleeing party and continue the aggression. This includes hanging out in green zone(s) when you know your gang is at war with another gang. Law Enforcement RP The use of grenades or molotovs by law enforcement will be governed by each department's SOPs Photo evidence must be taken through the use of in server devices (camera, cell phone, Weazel News camera, binoculars, helicopter camera zoom etc). Exceptions will be made for photos that are not able to be obtained through the use of props (viewing radar, inventory, forensic evidence, documents etc.) Body cam evidence is not permitted, either video or photo Only aspects of photos that would reasonably be within view of the camera will be considered (Ex. photo views obtained in third person would not permit use of anything on the other side of a 10 foot wall) Criminal and Gang RP Gangs are defined as any organized group of players that engage in illegal or hostile RP that have been approved by staff. Gangs, when possible, should develop a backstory which includes how they were started, what their goals/mission are, identify their turf, etc. The BLRP staff reserve the right to disband any gang that breaks server rules or behaves in an overly toxic manner. Gang and Criminal Behavior If you enter the server and are engaged in extremely aggressive hostilities with LEOs or other criminals right away, this shows staff that you aren't concerned about role play or backstory and are valuing gun play in a way that does not suit our community's expectations. Active gang members should wear attire that matches style and color in such a manner that they are easily identifiable as a gang Gangs are expected to participate in RP and should only engage in hostile activities if it makes sense as part of their RP Story Groups should not be repeatedly targeting a group or player over and over, there needs to be reasonable options for an out and settling hostilities from both sides Players engaged in crime RP should exercise reasonable fear of police, and jail time/fines are not to be treated lightly Players may use aircraft for criminal activity between San Andreas and Cayo Perico/Yankton. Any other use of aircraft for criminal activity is forbidden Players are prohibited from using submarines for crime Players are prohibited from using on-duty tow mechanics for crime. The use of tow trucks for block-off / escapes is still permitted Attacks on a prison transport are not permitted without prior approval from staff. Approvals are granted on a case-by-case basis and are generally reserved for scenarios in which there has been significant storyline buildup During war, a more relaxed version of initiation is allowed. Verbal demands or initiation is not required, however the attacking side must still let their presence be known and intent clear to the defending side. Non verbal initiation can be made by spinning the defenders block in vehicles painted your gang's color / livery, or approaching the defending gang while wearing your gang colors and having weapons out. During a gang war (or full-scale gang on gang interaction), a gang may only re-attack the rival gang after the rival gang retaliates, provokes another attack, or 6 hours have passed since the most recent attack from either gang. The 6 hour timer continues through server restart, however attacks are not permitted in the hour before or after server restart. Crew A "crew" will be the beginning steps of becoming an established gang in the server. During this time, staff will be monitoring your group to see how you will identify yourself and role play as a group. No matter how well established your crew was in another server, or how close you and your friend group are, realistically a group would need to take time to understand the inner-workings of criminal behavior in a new place they've moved to. We expect to see an initial focus on building an identity, business relationships, and seeing what all the criminal world has to offer. Actions such as successfully completing robberies as an organized crew, or skillfully evading police pursuits are examples of how you can be hostile/aggressive to build your gang's reputation. We are NOT looking for new crews that enter the server with a “shoot ‘em up” mindset or that instigate wars with established gangs right away, as extreme hostility should have a back story and legitimate role play leading up to it. During this period of being a crew, you will be able to do the following: Show presence in an area that is not claimed by an established gang Wear group Identifiers such as color(s),Masks,Kutte,Ect. Trial Phase At this point, a Crew has filed a Gang Application and has been approved by Staff to be in the "Trial Phase." The Trial Phase will last about 5 weeks, time can be extended if the Crew didn't make a great impact, or they will be told to reapply next cycle. During this phase, the Crew will now have the ability for the following: Claim Turf Declare War against a rival gang Staff will monitor the Crews that are in the Trial Phase extensively. If it is deemed that the Crew Lacks a gang identity, Lacks roleplay, or has had a significant number of Staff actions taken against them, the Crew will be denied Established An "Established" Gang will be a crew that have completed the trial period and have provided a backstory to their group. developed an identity and have shown positive roleplay as a gang. All established gangs are approved by the Staff team post Trial Phase. Once approved by staff you will be able to participate in the following: Criminal Events ran by Staff Submit requests for custom clothing Other mechanics for their gang Players must be a part of a gang, and active for two weeks before participating in Gang vs. Gang hostilities Gangs may not be involved in more than one war at a time Gang Size (GS) Gangs and or criminal player groups are limited to a maximum of 5 players participating in an illegal or hostile scenario, This includes: Members acting as a lookout Members acting as a getaway Members ziptied or held hostage Members in police custody Members giving call outs/communication Gangs may ally together for roleplay situations and mechanical criminal activity, however they cannot ally together to target another gang/player group. They are still restricted to a total of 5 players per scenario. During a staff-approved prison bus breakout attempt, the individuals in custody do not count toward the maximum. These individuals cannot join in hostilities against the police once freed and must flee the area immediately Coordinated Raids Search Warrants For the purpose of this section, a "raid" is defined as LEOs serving a search warrant on a gang hideout, business, warehouse or residence LEOs must notify and liaise with staff (a moderator or admin) prior to raiding any location LEOs must ensure the property owner or a business member with mechanical door access is online before starting the raid (will be advised by staff). If neither of these people can be found logged in within 1 week of the proposed raid date, this requirement is waived and the raid may proceed. Gangs may not exceed 5 hostile criminals to defend a raid unless advised by staff. If advised, gang size will be increased to 10 hostile criminals for the duration of the raid Gang members who learn of the raid OOC may log in to defend the raid but may not exceed specified gang size. Logging in mid raid to defend is not considered metagaming LEOs must use no more than 8 LEOs if 5 criminals are permitted, and 14 LEOs if 10 criminals are permitted. Helicopter pilots and non-hostile LEOs in helicopters do not count toward the LEO count Hostility must be kept in the general area of the location being raided If LEOs back away from the location being raided, the raid will be considered finished Once the raid is finished, normal gang rules are again applicable Illegal Location Raids (ILRs) LEOs may be granted warrants to shut down illegal locations through raids. The following rules are set out to ensure balance and a fair fight for both criminals and participating LEOs, as well as ensuring that raids do not cause a large impact on non-participating players Gangs may only participate in ILRs if they are invited to participate in the ILR by server staff Gangs may have up to 10 active hostile members per gang participating in the ILR Gangs may invite non-gang members to participate in their defense in order to meet the 10 member limit if they wish Gangs who learn about ILRs through word of mouth either IC or OOC may not participate in the ILR Gangs participating in the ILR may wear tactical gear, but must wear a base clothing color other than black Gangs must disperse and leave the area if a state of emergency is declared Each gang participating in the ILR must wear coordinated colors that are easily distinguishable from other participating gangs

  2. Myself and Manuel Carlos(Manny) have been talking about this idea and would like to see what the community thought!  New Theft Job Idea Use the open homes that have been put in place from the main story. Each home provides different qualities of loot with the “Richer” neighborhoods providing higher quality items or loot. Each home can have 3-5 “harvest arrows” similar to grapes and mining. These arrows will move periodically just like the grapes and if they are on a cabinet, the “thief” will need a lockpick to gain the secured item(s). The Richer houses will have silent alarms that get triggered upon entering the house giving LSPD a ping and the criminals a short window to search. The cheaper houses will not have security but the arrows will have a chance where if they don’t find anything and then PD is alerted by an npc noticing suspicious behavior.  Informant – can have a chance to inform of string of house theft or B&E. Selling – player owned shops can “purchase items” through a “pawn items” option. As for the loot, maybe have the loot pool be something similar to diving but still specific to the types of houses that they are taken from. The “rich” homes have gold, diamonds, coins, different bars and such. Where the “Cheaper” homes have boots, dirty money, grapes, peaches, various foods from the shops. These are just a few Ideas and such to use what the devs already have in game so that we can add to our RP and emersion and give both cops and criminals a new RP scenario other than just drug calls and drug busts.  I know some people like to RP in the open homes as their own from the “cheaper homes” side, so that would add as an RP for someone to think their home is being stolen from? Just some ideas. What does the Community think?

  3. Business & Property License Regulations Definitions: Business License: A government granted permit based off application whereby the government assists with property and infrastructure to help facilitate the business. Property License: A government granted lease based off application on a property for a group to operate from. Business License Types: Class A Business license holders must follow section 1, 2, 3, and 4. Examples include a car dealership, or impound lot operator. Class B Business license holders must follow all sections except 1.1 and 1.2. Examples include a restaurant, bicycle shop, or convenience store. Property License holders must follow all sections except 1.1 and 1.2. Examples include Motorcycle Club Compound, FDF Gang house etc. Section 1: Criminality The State reserves the right to deny business licenses to applicants based on criminal history. For example, a felon would not be eligible for a medical dispensary or commercial airline. They could be eligible for a hot dog stand or bicycle shop. For a business owner who is required to keep a clean record, the State will periodically review criminal history to ensure compliance. You will be informed in your application the requirements for the specific business type you have planned. License holders that have employees must ensure that their employees are not active criminals. If License holders fail to take action and remove these employees their business is subject to temporary shutdown, permanent shutdown, and/or fines based on directives by the State government. This includes any security hired or subcontracted by a Class A. A Business license holder and employees who operate a public business/property in a way that grossly endangers public safety can lead to a temporary shutdown, permanent shutdown, and/or fines based on directives by the State government. A licensed business or property found to be facilitating illegal criminal activities on the property or through the business can lead to a temporary shutdown, permanent shutdown, and/or fines based on directives from the State government. Section 2: License Price Business/Property licenses come with a fee as described below. Based on the estimated/potential yearly revenue of the business, there will be a one time fee of $50,000 - $500,000. Based on the required renovations/importations that will be done, there will be a one time fee of $50,000 - $500,000. The state reserves the right to charge a reasonable fair market value rent. Failure to pay the prescribed rent in a timely manner can lead to eviction. Rental fees will not be in effect until further notice. Section 3: Absentee Owner The State reserves the right to revoke a business license from absentee owners or non-regularly operating businesses in order to maintain a high standard of commerce and fair opportunity for others interested in the space. If within a period of 2 weeks a business is completely inactive the state will reach out. If continued absence is noticed the business license can be removed. Section 4: License Transfer Business licenses and the property associated are not transferable. Any interested party in taking over a business in agreement with the current licensee, must apply with the government. The state reserves the right to revoke license of the business and open applications to the public if they wish.

  5. With the constant whining and complaining about the lack of active EMS, it makes it really hard for me to just read/listen and keep my mouth shut so here it goes: This is MY personal view on things, and I don't mean to blame, judge or point fingers, just share a little bit of insight from my side (not as the Fire Chief, but as a field medic), One of the main reasons I get really frustrated when I am on medic duty is the general lack of RP on scene by civilians. Groups of friends hanging out just chatting while their downed friend is bleeding out, a guy with 7 gunshots to the chest saying he is fine and just needs to be picked up, people grinding and not wanting their wine to go bad, people constantly going ooc either quoting SOPs or server rules, constantly chatting on discord instead of actively talking IC in game, etcetera. Light RP, medium RP, its still RP and we all should put some effort into trying to make it a fun experience for everyone. I won't speak for everybody in EMS, and I can understand that not everybody wants to play that role, but the constant complaining in-game and ooc  just demotivates me. Final thought: what is the big deal about re-spawning? I mean if you value your life you shouldn't go down so often that it becomes such a drag. It's not my intention to stir shit up, but to publicly ask the community to stay positive and for everybody to do their little part.

  6. Los Santos Fire Department Applications are currently CLOSED Welcome to the Los Santos Fire Department Applications for Emergency Medical Technician and Hospital Staff! We are currently accepting applications from dedicated individuals who are passionate about providing exceptional emergency medical services. To ensure a smooth and efficient application process, please carefully review the following information. When do Applications open? Applications are reviewed during the hiring period, which starts two weeks before LSFD Academy begins. The hiring period is specifically timed to allow for interviews ahead of Academy. Submitting early does not guarantee an earlier review. If you’ve submitted your application outside of this period, it will remain in the queue until the hiring period begins. Please be patient while we ensure a fair and thorough review process. Application Process Overview: 1. Role Expectations: In-House Hospital Staff: Focuses on hospital-based care, including roles like doctor, nurse, or receptionist. While primarily stationed in a hospital setting, In-House staff may occasionally assist in emergency fieldwork.. First Responder EMT: Focuses on responding to emergencies in the field, including providing care at the scene, transporting patients to medical facilities, and assisting in fire response or search and rescue operations. 2. Minimum Standards: Put effort into your application answers, use your own words, and be truthful. Use the provided format and fill in ALL sections properly. Be sure to select either In-House staff or First Responder EMT in the IC section. Play on the server for at least 2 weeks before applying to get a grasp on the general game mechanics. Must have no administrative actions on account for past 2 weeks (no bans or warnings). Failure to follow these standards may result in a waiting period of up to a month before reapplying. Please refrain from contacting LSFD staff regarding the status of your application, as they are routinely reviewed by LSFD Leadership during the hiring period. Candidates have one week to set up an interview after acceptance, or they must re-apply. 3. Interviews: Interviews will assess your selected track (In-House / First Responder), but applicants can change tracks later if needed. Applicants have 1-2 weeks to complete their interview with a Captain+, closing for the current hiring round on the Friday before Academy. 4. Important Steps Following the Interview: Wait for access to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and thoroughly review them before starting your training. This may take up to 48 hours to grant access to the necessary forums. EMS Academy runs once per month, on the first Saturday of each month. Contact a Paramedic+ to schedule three separate in-city training sessions, allocating at least at least 2 hours per session. Upon completion of training, pass a final evaluation with a Chief Paramedic+ to demonstrate your readiness. Complete the cadet period within thirty days of being hired. It's crucial to actively progress your training during this timeframe to ensure a successful career in the LSFD. Please note that the LSFD Cadet Training Program can accommodate up to 10 Cadets at a time. Applications can still be submitted but may not be reviewed until after current cadets have completed training. Returning EMTs who do not require the complete training program may not count towards the cadet class, at the discretion of LSFD Leadership. We are a legal faction and cannot accept candidates who have been convicted of violent crimes or felonies. Record expungements should be completed before the interview. Non-violent misdemeanors can be pending expungement, but must be cleared before completing training. Ensure that you follow ALL instructions as they are laid out in the application to avoid any complications or denial of your application. Thank you for your interest in joining the Los Santos Fire Department as an Emergency Medical Technician. We look forward to reviewing your application and potentially welcoming you to our dedicated team of professionals. __________________________________________________________APPLICATION________________________________________________________________ There is an Out-of-character (OOC) section and an In-character (IC) section to this application so pay attention! Start a New Topic in the Applications section (You will only see your own topics): https://badlandsrp.com/forum/15-applications/ Use the following format for your thread title: EMS Application - (UserID) - Name Copy the following into the body of your post: OOC Section: Your discord name and ID: (How-To - example: yama07: 156873001407610880) UserID: (This is the number over your head when you press f6) Have you previously applied to the LSFD? (link your previous application(s)) How old are you (OOC)? How much RP experience do you have? Time zone: Additional Comments? Server Rule and RP-Based Questions: Your responses should be 1 paragraph per question max. Where appropriate, you may respond using a combination of IC and OOC. Any OOC actions should be typed in italics to clearly distinguish them from your IC responses. Remember to adhere to server rules and guidelines even in hypothetical situations and focus on your character's actions and decisions in your responses. You are medically treating a gunshot victim found in a back alley when an armed gunman approaches you from behind. He tells you to leave the area at gunpoint as he has some unfinished business with your patient. How do you respond? You have been called to assist a downed individual at a known drug lab that you have never seen before. You have been looking for this lab for months on your own. How does this affect your drug dealing criminal alt character? IC Section: Name: Age: Phone Number: Background: Tell us about you, your background in the city and why you want to join the Los Santos Fire Department. Share anything about your personality, interests, and values. What position are you applying for? Are you applying for an In-House position (e.g., Hospital Doctor, Nurse, or Receptionist) or as a First Responder EMT? While your selection helps align your initial training and duties, you are not permanently locked into this role. For example, nurses can do EMT work, and EMTs can do hospital duties when necessary. How do you believe you can contribute to the LSFD? What skills or qualities do you posses that would benefit the department and the community? What sets you apart from other applicants? Do you have any prior medical/emergency experience? If so, describe your previous roles and responsibilities, as well as any significant achievements or challenges you've encountered. Criminal Record: Do you have a criminal record (any violent crimes / felonies) that we should be aware of? Availability: Outline your availability for EMS duties. Feel free to provide an approximate breakdown of the time you can dedicate to EMS compared to other commitments, such as work, personal activities, or involvement in other factions or organizations. For example: "60% EMS, 30% PD, 10% Personal" Where do you see yourself in the LSFD in the future? Are there any specific goals, career milestones, or leadership positions you aspire to achieve as you progress in your role?

  7. Seeing as the information leak ruined everything I really think there should be an enforced rule about these raids. Maybe government can choose gangs to participate that would make sense in roleplay, a.k.a gang turfs or control of drugs and have it actually stated in rules that if your gang is NOT chosen, to stay the hell away from it. Being overrun like that was not fun for anyone on the police side of things. Usually we only have a certain limit of LEOs for these things but having to call in reinforcements when we found out what we were up against just turned this in to a Call of Duty warzone match. There were more IC aspects that ruined this raid for me but they have since been addressed, however the amount of people that had to participate in that tonight ruined any tactical roleplay and or setting up roleplay for the criminal gangs that were initially chosen for this. Also gangs participating in these should represent their colours and not be dressing up as SWAT. TLDR: There should be a rule and a choosing of gangs that may participate in a raid that makes sense in roleplay (or other aspects) and if the gangs are not chosen they should NOT participate.  PS: I think gangs should be taking more control of specific substances & turfs, because it makes 0 sense for everyone to be buddy buddy 24/7. You guys treat this place more like SecondLife than a RP server.

  8. I think it would be a nice touch to add ID's as a physical item, carried by citizens in inventory.  If lost, or stolen, a replacement can be payed for and gotten at city hall. Driving with out a Lic is a crime, however a lower charge if it is not revoked, and just "left at home".  A manner to ID suspects will be needed, Mechanically no different, (search ID, PD already has), but PD should RP running finger prints at the station to get an ID on a suspects that is non-compliant.  Moving towards 2.0, Showing ID should be a choice, and the option to not have one for players who are, for example, Homeless, several mental instability, hardened criminals, or just forgetful. Should not be a magical mechanic that pulls an ID out of you know what. With this players can be given an extra level of responsibility, while adding a layer of immersion to character development.    Â

  9. I had this idea in my head which I first saw on some random Youtube channel. I would love to see car trailers like this one here in the city. It would just be purchaseable like any other vehicle in the garage. I was thinking that the mechanics could work the same way as tow trucks work at the time. Be able to park behind de trailer with a vehicle and lift it on there. Also it would be awesome to have one for boats like this one so you can drive through town and move your boat or jetski that way. Now, I am not a coder so I've got no clue if this would be possible to implement and if so, how hard it would be.  Just an idea I hope to see implemented Much love, John Bakersfield ? Â

  14. I feel like defending a raid is close to pointless. So many people already know about certain spots, that I’d rather a place get raided and we find it again. Because when you think about it from a criminal point of view, it’s a 10 vs 10 raid. That’s 10 class 3s, which is ALOT of money to use, and that’s not including the armour that people would go though, and things like that. It all adds up in the end. But I had an idea, whoever defends the location and wins! They are allowed to go into the spot, grab all the gear and move it (Admins will obviously move it and then tell the group where the new location is) but it’s good RP and it makes the raid so much more interesting. Then personally I’ll try my hardest to win that raid, so we can continue using the new spot like it was never gone. I think it’s better this way, because the amount of people that will drive towards all the gun shots will be stupid, everyone will know what’s going on and where the spot is. Then eventually police will come and try to raid it again, which means for class 3s more armour, it’s an endless cycle. In RP it doesn’t make sense for a spot to stay where is it when the police know about it.

  15. I would like to suggest that in 2.0 admin events are ran on a separate server. I feel they actually disrupt RP in favor for an hour or two of OOC mini games. It kills the immersion when people are trying to have some serious RP and the day cycle drastically shifts or the weather suddenly changes. People are suddenly being teleported away...  And the city becomes a ghost town. I just feel like the player hosted events don't kill the immersion as hard as the Admin events do and would like to see them hosted on their own server. Don't get me wrong I love the events the Admin staff put on I am just making this suggestion for Roleplay sake and the servers immersion overall.Â

  16. What if, 5-10 minutes before the server restart, the weather transitioned into a thunderstorm to give a bit more of an in-game reason to call the restarts the "storm." It would give a visual indicator that you should probably take shelter before the tsunami comes in and washes all the cars into the nearest garage and all of the people into the nether realm.

  17.  The current meta that a lot of players are using to sell drugs is to stop at a person, attempt a sell, and if it is a rejection they flee to the other side of the map. Even on the 1st rejection.  Doing this IMO is Power Gaming at its finest and a “Must Win Attitude”, which makes Criminal Vs. Cop RP unconducive.  After spending much time dealing drugs, interacting with other dealers. After staying put in an area, while cops go by, start to investigate, or even getting busted.    My thought was to maybe add a reward based system, one that encourages players to hold down turf, and claim an area.  The city can be broken into sections or districts 4-5 of them. All sections are the same to start, no bonus, But  as long as you stay in the same section, were after you sell X amount of product, you start to get a bonus or higher chance to sell multiple bags. Basically you start to see that your customs build a relationship with their drug dealer, and are more comfortable buying in bulk, or paying more cause the know the product is high quality…….   So starting in one area or the other won’t matter, they all pay the same to start and go up the same amount. You can run all over the map, if you want to avoid all RP.  But the players who stay to RP should get a little more reward for effort. 19. To The Bros of Los Santos  As a man of the people, by the people, and for the people, I am very excited to announce my official candidacy for mayor! Born in North Yankton underneath a trailer home, I have overcome many obstacles, but that's all water under the fridge. Being an honest man, I'll admit that I dropped out of school at a very young age. I've overcome adversity in numerous ways. Upon landing in Los Santos I was an outcast, like a moist goat in the desert. After time, however, the fine people of Los Santos made me feel at home. So now, I feel obliterated to escalate this city to its fullest potential!  Me and my trusted team are here to listen to any concerns that you may have, so feel free to reach out to any of the Bros in the Staff Team!  In the world of Tetris, if you fit in, you just disappear. So make your voices heard! http://www.taint4mayor.ml #TimeForTaint  Â

  21. Let me Start off by Saying this is one of those Topics where everyone should respond to. Civilians, Criminals & Cops. Since the War changes I have seen a grand total of 0 people like the rule set for fighting another group and I think a change is in order. -Remove the Attack and Defend rule. it completely ruins every component of a war. You no longer have to worry about being attacked and it almost completely restricts fighting to the other gangs turf. This boils down to one gang waiting for an attack that may never come or the attacking gang watching 5 people set up on roofs and understanding if they attack it would be a death sentence. Another main problem is the ability to hide behind the rule and only engaging when its beneficial to you, time and time again this results in going from 5v5s to 5 people attacking the other group at their weakest leaving both parties feeling awful. The attack and defend rule also kills off any form of hostile RP that isn't just straight murdering the other gang. You take one of them hostage, Mug one of them or even attack and pull off all equal wasted attacks. The new Rule set forces gangs to only kill each other as that might be the only time you have to inflict any sort of damage. -Make the time in Between attacks 2 hours OR 2 Hours for the other Gang to Attack and if not you are cleared to respond. 12 possible attacks a day is very unlikely, However this equates to 2-3 Fights a day between groups. not only does this prolong the war but it also helps to stop constant shoot outs between gangs tying up Cop and Ems resources I'm more of a fan for the Second option this allows 2 hours for the rival gang to regear and take the fight to you. -Wars must be declared Face to Face and ended Face to face to have a clear conclusion -Wars should have terms agreed to by both Parties either OOC or IC and hold the other party to them. This includes going straight to class 3s, coordinating if you did anything toxic, and keeping the overall war less toxic and fun for both parties. -every war should result in something gained and something earned to prevent pointless wars. This also means a request for peace should be accepted to stop it from becoming toxic.

  23. Hi Errybody, Over the next little while, we're going to be hiding past forum posts that contain no longer accurate info or are too meta for Badlands 2.0. This is to promote in game communication and discovery more, and minimize the confusion of new players looking up old systems. Thank you to all of you who took time to make guides and provide help! Â

  25. With 2.0 now in fruition, I would like to open up discussion about illegal areas. Currently their locations are static, and marked on the map for everyone to see, I'd like to see a change.  Firstly, remove illegal area markers on the map. Create a more serious side of having to RP and work your way into the underbelly of LS crime. Find and approach known gangs who push a lot of cocaine, maybe they give you a location, or you buy from them at wholesale prices. This would also bring a lot more RP and meaning for cops to Patrol and find these illegal areas. Once found out and illegal area can be raided and shut down by police, maybe there is a downtime before the illegal area is open for business, now in a new location. I think this would give the likes of undercover officers a big role. Start having actual drug cartels in the city. But staying on point, it would give everything another push towards more realistic RP.Â

  26. I'd like to start a discussion about the current state of how things are within the city right now, from all perspectives possible - so feel free to add in any thoughts as well. To start, I'd like to point out that the interaction between players lately has been incredibly low compared to that of the past, which can be attributed to a lot of factors that will be discussed. With the current economy, scuba diving is obviously the king of making money upfront, with the massive payouts and non-existent risk of jail time or hefty fines. While I am all for a well-paying legal job, this job in particular is incredibly anti-social and thwarts the concept of drugs for its "no risk - high reward" payout. In my opinion, scuba needs to be nerfed to be more in line with growing weed, or all the drugs need a buff in some way to make them the "huge risk - huge reward" they're supposed to be. With the recent change to how dirty money is cleaned, drugs have become all that much more nerfed in comparison to scuba diving. When the purchase to start cleaning money is initiated, there is a huge chance that the police will be at the store within minutes, sometimes only allowing us to clean around $6,000-$10,000 before they show up, which brings up another huge point. Currently, many police officers simply just stand in the store and look at the shelves during a raid, which, as Vagos, we will always defend our store in the event that the police attempt to raid it. Should we defend it successfully, we'll only be allowed the time to clean roughly another $30,000 before another raid is attempted with either more backup or more firepower, or both. If we were to unsuccessfully defend the store, we not only lose the money in the safe, but we are also going to lose all the money that was cleaned in fines/restitution. It also seems that there has been a huge lack of gang-police RP, which is unhealthy. Gangs and PD are always going to co-exist in some way and there's been a huge rift in that relationship as a result of the way many members of PD treat gangs through the use of full fines/time and sometimes excessive amount of force or stereotyping, which seriously kills the desire to RP as a gang. Obviously there are plenty of times where gang RP can get out of control, however the overall RP shouldn't be discouraged. If gangs were to disappear from the city, cops would be bored writing speeding tickets and conducting welfare checks and dealing with occasional drug calls, much like it is now with the majority of people scuba diving instead of interacting through illegal activities. Speaking with several PD members, I have heard that the thrill of dealing with a street gangs makes PD much more interesting and fun compared to chasing drug calls on the pier throughout a shift, because of the constant threat of being attacked or kidnapped, and many have told me they would like to see more gang RP taking place, such as Vagos vs. Ballas, etc. in order to change up the monotony of routine patrolling, and that includes myself as a police officer. From an EMS perspective, there hasn't been much to do as a result of the huge amount of scuba divers. There is rarely any calls for angry locals downing civs for bumping into them while selling drugs, or hardly any PD/Civ interactions that end in EMS being called after a shootout or a chase ending with someone not wearing a seat belt. A large majority of the calls are from people who want to get back on their feet and get back to making their wine or whatnot. So my suggestion is to rework some of the payouts for the drug system and to re-balance scuba diving in order to encourage more RP among players within the Civ-EMS-PD triangle. Reworking the dirty money system some more would also encourage more stores to be opened for cleaning and a rework to the steps PD would have to take in order to respond to a suspicious transaction (such as having to check the FIB building, having to actually see proof of a transaction, or even just temporarily closing down the store instead of closing it for that person for the storm) would also increase the value of stores/store raids.Â

  27. I hear a lot of complaints about players paying extra for repairs, signaling that a mechanic is clocked on, but with no response from phone calls, or tweets about doing repairs. IMO it is impossible to spot a player who is clocked in as a mechanic and is not doing the job. Or just repairing their own vehicle for free, i can't see if they are paying or not.   lets make on-duty mechanics show up as a..... green dot for everyone to see. that way when we see them doing other jobs, we can report them and end the abuse, otherwise it is up to the admin team alone to catch these bad apples. We can't report what we can't see......Â

  30.  Badlands Department Of Corrections  The purpose of the DOC is similar to the LSPD, to help facilitate RP throughout the prison process. A large issue I had noticed when it came to prisons was that it was almost always a “RP killer”. Using a robbery for an example, the criminals would rp through all the planning and set-up of the robbery, that being getting a hostage, getting the necessary equipment, utility and forming a plan; then would rp throughout the execution of the plan during the actual robbery and if caught they would rp with the police during their arrest and processing with a lawyer but the moment they hit the prison the rp died as there was nothing to do other than wait. DOC would allow that RP to continue if the prisoner wishes. Upon arrival in Bolingbrook, the criminal would follow a guard who would talk them through the process at the prison and could converse with them about such things as what they did, what led them to committing said crime, their characters backstory and so on. The DOC guards would guide the prisoners around the prison and can reward good behaviour/RP with time reductions.  Role The Department of Corrections role in Los Santos is to monitor and oversee the day to day life of those coming in and out of prison. The guards main objective is to converse with prisoners and oversee that order is kept as prisoners go on about their jobs.  The DOC would be mostly separate from LSPD/BCSD/SASD/etc as they would be able to function independently. They would have the ability to revive prisoners, guards and themselves (SOPs would stop excessive/unnecessary usage).  During any criminal trials, DOC would be present to oversee the prisoner/defendant if they are being held. Depending on the outcome, the Corrections officers may be ready to transport the prisoner in the prison bus to Bolingbrook. This would open up the possibility for an attempted save which would have the regular law enforcement coordination with DOC to try defer till they can get to the prison. (Prison bus would be slow but very difficult to stop)  General Mechanic Changes If the DOC were to grace Los Santos there would be certain changes that should come with it, for example; the prison timer should not be shown on screen, you should either have to go to a DOC to get out of jail and check time (if there is one clocked in) otherwise there would be an area to do so if there aren't any clocked in. Another change would be that you could now harm people in prison/take damage.  Cell System This mechanic would allow prison rp to stay mainly in prison. When you log into the server, you would have a cell assigned to you. Each cell would have 3 separate storages (5-10kgs each) where a prisoner could store any items. Also in the cell you may have a toilet where you could make some kind of drug using smuggled items. DoC would only be able to search cells during a cell sweep. In a cell sweep the guards would only be able to search 2 storage spots per cell. Prior to a cell being searched the prisoner may be questioned about what they may have and where they may be. If any contraband is found, then they all items, including luxuries, will be confiscated. Cell sweeps are not meant to be common and will only be done after a riot has been quelled or after an escape attempt.  Jobs A new addition to the prison would be the jobs, you would be able to complete jobs around the prison that can reward you with a small amount of commissary money (Badlands Bucks?) to spend within the prison and also reduce your time by a small amount.  Certain jobs may drop items which could be used to trade for other items like luxories, things used to make drugs or even weapons.  Equipment A standard Corrections Guard would have access to normal Patrol Officer gear but they would also be able to use the Beanbag Shotgun and the Riot Shotgun. The beanbag shotgun would be a non lethal shotgun that incapacitates any target hit for a set time. Big intimidation factor. The riot shotgun would only be used once prisoners have access to lethal weapons themselves.  Little mock-up of custom uniforms (Lighting is funky in model viewer)  Life Sentences With the implementation of DOC, it may be possible to have a character that can go into prison for life. This character could have connections with the outside world but is trapped in the prison and will always be on the run if they ever manage to escape. A lifer character would be given special treatment and almost be on the same side as the DOC as they would work together to RP with those that are just being sent to jail for a set amount of time.  This is a brief description of what I think would be a good addition for 2.0 Looking for opinions, criticisms and suggestions for all the dirty criminals

  31. Hello! I love the additional rooms given in the Mission Row basement, great RP possibilities! I'd like to suggest some changes/updates to maybe two of the rooms. - A lock on the Interrogation room door so we can use that room as a temporary holding cell when a lawyer is requested. - A couple of stationary chairs at the desk in the desk in the room. (Ones that can't be knocked over.) - A circle for MDT/Wanted Records downstairs at the computer desk. - Cell doors in the main block unlocked by default at the server reset. - No damage in those additional rooms/area (just in case that isn't a thing already) - Also no locals down there!  Thank you guys. 32. I'll start with saying this I understand were your coming from, Any tool in the hands of a true RP'r and a player who values other people's immersions over their own, would never be abuses, But those players are 1/10,000......... So items like these will never be aloud on a good functioning public server. Think about it, If I can just shoot you, cuff you, rob you, drag you to a mountain top, take your phone (so you can't call for a medic), and then leave you to die so you remember nothing. How much fun would that be for you? (Cough, Cough, Nopixel)..... Main thing to understand is that on server's were such Illegal items are available, that can be used to force other player's to bend to your will, most often IMO, causes there to be less valuable RP. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On this server, to "make" any player submit to your will requires Imagination, Patience, and RP skill. Instead of simple "cuffing" or "zip-tying" a player, you must preform a level of RP that satisfies the player's you are engaging with. This is not very hard. However simple sticking a gun in someones face, for no other reason then to get what you want, or to "win", is not a very creative, or enjoyable way to do it.  And a handcuff option in this situation would most certainly by abused. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Police Recruits go through many Hrs of training to become Patrol Officer's, and learn when to and when not to use these tools they have. LEO's are subject to re-view. If you feel you have been wronged, (Not that you just lost, and went to jail), but truly wronged by an officer, file an IA report, these are meant to help correct any problems within the PD. But remember threatening an IA report (which is an ooc thing) on an Officer while in game can result in a Ban. Be respectful, take your licks, and file an IA report on the forums while in prison. Remember you must supply video evidence, so make sure you record anytime you play on an RP server!!   -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now lets talk about breaking into a police station. This is an RP server, right? Why would 2 men try to break into a highly secured fortress with multiple trained officers, armed to the teeth? You saw 3 officers, but lets be honest a HQ would have 4-8 other officers, and dispatch, doing all that paper work. Not a smart choice if you value your life. IMO when you or your friends are in the Police Station, in cuffs, and in a cell..... Face it, you lost, do your time and try again later. Remember, the server has 31 other people who want to RP with or as cops. We can't spend all our time on 1 person or group, when you go to prison it is a well earned time out, so that officers can address other citizens in need of RP. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The LEO vehicle's while affordable, and quick, are certainly not the fastest, or cheapest, on the server. It's not your fault that so much misinformation gets spread by the illuminate. I still remember all the things I thought were OP or un-fair when I was a civilian. I wish i could just tell you everything, but i simply can't. Trust me, so much has changed on this server since then, that has re-balanced in the favor toward the criminal, and it is a never ending cycle of balance. Please feel free to submit an application on the forums to become an LEO, and see if you can handle the responsibility of the Role. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In closing - Remember to record - be respectful and considerate to other RP'rs - and HAVE FUN!!! Hopefully this info helps you on your journey through the Badlands.       Â

  33. Ill start this off by saying this. Veronica Black is a character. I am not actually Veronica Black as a person. She might not be your favorite character or even a very likeable one at that, that being said, I never intend to hurt peoples feeling or to upset anyone. If i have or do I'll gladly have a conversation about it so long as things remain respectful and the purpose is to be a connected community. With that in mind, we gotta stop shit talking eachothers RP man. I feel like there is some hostility between cliques that really leads back to our inability to trust others RP. It seems like everyone is looking for a way others are exploiting, fail rping, harrassing, ect. And it just falls back to this place where no one RPs outside of their groups. Im guilty of it too, seeing something not go my way and immediately assuming its because the other party is exploiting or metagaming or powergaming... whatever it is. But the thing is if we can stop knocking eachothers RP and instead appreciate the variety we all bring to the table itll be alot healthier gaming environment and community. Stop immediately condecending, fighting, or belittling others RP or RP ideas. In the forums, discord, or in game. ( This includes your opinions on stuff like the mayor stuff, or how someone ruins RP by not going along.) Your opinion is no one elses business and youre contributing to the toxicity.  Stop. Stop talking shit about other members or players OOC. About their level of rp, their ability to RP, their character choices, their voice, face, what ever. Just stop. Most of us are grown ass adults adults and its ridiculous. (This excludes your in character choices tho. Not everyone needs to play a likeable character and some hostility creates a dynamic environment.) Be good people, not necessarily good characters. Stop being a bunch of fucking crybabies. Stop crying during meetings. Stop whining to admins over petty bullshit. Stop being mad cuz others dont rp your way. Its not sims, you cant control other players. Its a risk you take when you include others in your rp. They might do some shadey shit and thats ok. The admins are people. People who get real fuckin tired of our bullshit. They dont wanna be up till who knows when listening to us whining about how so and so is a big meanie. Do Communicate. After hostile RP hit that person up saying "Hey great RP! Youre awesome." Or whatever. Reassure eachother that hostile RP isnt a hostile community. We are all people and games are frustrating but being positive and kind to eachother makes a healthy community. Do assume positive intent. If you look for negative you will find it. Assuming someone is well meaning and just trying to have fun, like you are, is going to find you that. (No im not talking about default danny number 6042856 who just rdm'ed you and called you a puss bag. Obvi report him) Honestly we have some amazing RPers with extraordinary creative talent but the ooc hostility we bring is crushing eachothers ability to flourish. Lets appreciate eachother. The people who stand around at legion, make sure theres always someone to talk to. The ones who never have any beef keep it peaceful. The ones who got a big fuckin mouth and start shit... we keep it interesting. Lets just be good to eachother yeah? Even if you dont see hostility you can at least agree with that message, right?

  34. Respecting other's roleplay, take a step back to assess another person's RP and how they are trying to approach that scenario, don't fight fire with fire. Forget winning or losing, the only valuable outcome is great RP. Dive into their scenario, rather than always trying to course it in your own direction.

  35. I have pleaded this many times but I feel the LOST MC shouldn't be a storefront for RP reasons. No way a outlaw biker club would allow their clubhouse to be used in that manor. If you had to use the LOST MC for anything a mod shop or repair shop would make most sense. Even a illegal chop shop but at the very least just removing the store as a legal storefront ran out of a biker bar that sells pizza and cola doesn't make much RP sense to me.Â

  36. Whoever runs the News feed, on all of our screens, is one OP F'ing wizard. This "News" knows the nano sec a store robbery starts. Either its Jesus running the show, or its OP. It makes no scenes that a store alarm company would call the News and not even bother to call the Police? I for one would fire them as the alarm company if I was the store owner. I think the system needs to be tweaked, I understand that the news alert is a mechanical feature to alert players that a store robbery is on going. With the intent of informing civs of an ongoing RP situation, so as to not waist time trying to rob another store, or to stay clear of the RP situation taking place at the current robbery. Unfortunately too often other civilians show up before LEO's and interrupt or intervene in said robbery, only cause they saw it on the news, and where board. 2-3 of the last 5 robberies I have done, have either had civilians come to steal the get away car, then drive it around laughing at the robbers. Or showing up to try and help when you don't want it. When you the robber are trying to be none hostile and they start shooting, on and on. I'm sure anyone who has robbed a couple stores before has dealt with this. (and before I get the "just report them" comment, cant report if I can't see the #'s, i'm not no-ballzing the robbery, or interrupting my RP to run out and catch #'s just to report a kid).   Suggestion - I strongly feel it is time to have the alarm company call the cops 1st and quietly. Then News should get alerted 1/2 way through the robbery.  What this will accomplish? 1st, Players robbing the store will have a better chance of dealing with players who follow rules, (police), the main reason for robbing a store. (interacting with police). 2nd, Civ Players who walk into a store being robbed before the alert goes out will bring an organic interaction instead of forced RP. 3rd, police will have a better chance of showing up to a neutral scene, and not one with chaos, or pissed off robbers cause they got their car stolen, or got shot by a random.    Â

  37. Entry 1: New city, new life? A new city is like starting a new life. That's what people keep telling you. And i guess that it the saying isn't completely off. Except that in the case of Los Santos I'm not entirely sure of how good of a thing that is. LS is a filthy, violent city. Its residents have but one thing in their mind, making money. It will come as no surprise that this goal is pursued by any means possible. If there is to be an upside it is probably the fact that this is keeping me busy. No more cozy Europe, instead here I am defending the case of the scum of the earth. Getting a sweet deal for murderers, robbers, thieves, road maniacs that only care about one life: their own. When people ask me, how I cope with it or straight out judge me for it, I usually just brush it off. But it would be foolish to assume that I could just live my life normally. When you walk out of MRPD, wishing the officer on duty a nice day, after you've just got someone off the hook for shooting at cops, you simply can't turn off your brain. Noone will think about it. And yet everybody is aware of it.  Entry 2: Don't do drugs. Drugs, drugs everywhere. The homeless guy on the corner, your mechanic of choice, wealthy businessmen. They all dip their fingers into the gigantic mountain of snow that is covering the city, switching ownership in little packages all the time. You can pretty much say that the city can be divided into two classes. Those who want to make money at all costs and those who can't and have resorted to the drugs. They both need their fix. Needless to say noone is afraid of the cops anymore. People offer you stuff all the time and the LSPD knows it damn well. The picture referenced may, hypothetically speaking of course, be a good illustration of why I can only encourage each and everyone to say NO to drugs. Lesson learned. Entry 3: The clients you pick How many times have I walked past these bars now? I don't even know anymore. I do remember handling my first few cases though and I think I managed pretty well for a rookie. But whenever you think you're getting some grip in your life and moving forward, this city will remind you of who's in charge. Like that time I almost got caught up in a gang war – by accident of course. Long story short: You help a guy out who's new in town. He starts working as a cab driver and immediately gets robbed by a bunch of bikers. Things then escalate rapidly, something that is hardcoded into the DNA of this city, as you will quickly realize. And almost turn into a full-fledged open conflict. Now did I ever have doubts about stepping in at the time and offer myself as a negotiator between the biker gang and my aquaintance? Definitely. But being able to get both parties to agree on a truce in the basement of a police station, after hours of violence and back and forth, and thus contributing to the piece in the city was well worth the effort.  Entry 4: New chapter „Oh no you didn't. No Joe, you didn't“, I could hear Cindy say as I drove up onto the parking lot. Despite the expression of disbelief and anger on her face I'm guessing she was expecting something unusual or even absurd, when I messaged her to meet me during her lunch break. You may think that showing off my JB 700to her was childish. From my perspective it was more of a message. As in: „F*** you Cindy“. The divorce is over, a new chapter starts. Entry 5: Meeting new people (1) My perspective on LS might have been a little grim so far. While it is true that violence, recklessness and drugs rule the streets, nice things happen too – at least once in a while. Like when you stop to get gas or pull up at a mechanic, minding your own business or being in a hurry to get somewhere. And then you bump into someone coincidentally, a conversation starts and before you know it you have yourself a business opportunity, learn useful things or find yourself even at the beginning of a friendship. Entry 6: Side business What are you up to again, Mr. S.? Now it is no habit of mine to spy on my employees. In fact I value their private lives. It's just that after all this time of employing Mr. Shackleford it still seems like I don't really know my associate. Certainly he's had a rough past and I don't want to open up old wounds. On the other hand my associate seems to be rather ... entrepreneurial for someone in his line of work, but I haven't been able to find out what he's getting himself into. I must keep my eyes on him. Entry 7: More of the same Tell someone you're a lawyer and you usually get one response: 'Oh you must be rich then'. I don't recall how many times I've heard something along these lines and I'm pretty sure others in this line of business have too. Now it is true that, depending on your job on defending a client's interests, you might get away with a decent compensation. But it doesn't happen often. You´re lucky enough if your petty drug dealer or small time hoodlum can cough up a few thousand bucks for his fine or restitution. And even luckier if they actually pay you what they promise when they ask you to perform miracles down in the MRPD holding cells. But what are you gonna do? Entry 8: New opportunities Although that parking meter is robbing me blind on a daily basis it is quite the relief to finally have our own offices. I cannot stress enough how lucky we were to meet Mr. V. who was able to help us out. Cause finding office space in this city is a nightmare. Now Mr. Shackleford, Cindy – when she decides to come work – and myself can accomodate clients in a slightly classier setting than that ...garage in Vinewood hills. Stepping up the game. Entry 9: Burgershot The food is terrible, let's be honest. And judging by the menu EMS are probably have to reanimate alot of people in that Burgershot joint that opened the other day. On the other hand it means one less pair of shoes ruined treading through mud down at the scrapyard. Don't get me wrong: You need to know where it's at in this city. The scrapyard certainly is one of those places. But it's certainly also good to see more meeting spots throughout LS and along with that new people and business opportunities.    Â

  39. Just wanted to give a shout out to the hard working staff of the Badlands Community. Consistently listening to our feedback, releasing new content for all to enjoy. Actively patrolling to keep our community wholesome and fun for all. And most recently accommodating the new influx of players with a 3rd server. I thank you all and I'm sure the rest of the community will also.  Let's keep BadlandsRP great!Â

  40. Just saying hello to all of the new people (a TON) who have joined since I was previously around. Â Â I got into an accident and had to step down to heal up and deal with some IRL stuff that piled up as a result. Even though games are a good outlet there are times when you need to recharge and step away from online stuff to recenter your energy. I am gonna be dipping back into the servers and look forward to the cool experiences to come. I really missed the RP stuff and look forward to sharing some laughs. I MAY be hopping back in uniform and doing some cop life but that is to be determined. If you see me then say hello!

  41. To make things nice an easy I will state the idea, then my proposed way of going about it concept wise, and then why I am suggesting it. Paleto Bay Helipad. At the Police station in Paleto Bay use one of their helipads as a helicopter spawn. Might be just me but those who do have access to Police/EMS helicopters may have the need for them while in the Paleto area (prime example being someone down on Chiliad) and running all the way to Sandy to get it is a waste of time. Remove local helicopters from Central roof. Remove the abilities for local helicopters to spawn, at least on the helicopter garage. As an EMS pilot there have been times where I go to clock off at central and/or restock and I can't land my helicopter safely/put it away because a local's helicopter has spawned. Player owned food trucks. Allow players to buy a food truck and sell food out of it to other players/locals. Similar to meth make it so players have to buy a cooking kit and the ingredients. Then they cook it similar to growing weed and depending on how they do they get different amounts of product. Then have the ability to deal these products to locals or sell them to other players. My suggestion would be to make it so the food is something that can only be made from food trucks (chimichongas for an example) and supplies a little more food than store bought items. It is a job that isn't the most in demand but sometimes people want to live a simple honest life and run a sandwich shop. Bus driver job. Allow players to drive along a series of predetermined routes and get paid for it based on being timely such as not too early or too late. Could use a waypoint system such as in a GTA race. It is a job that isn't the most in demand but sometimes people want to live a simple honest life and this could also be a means of transporting some players around by putting stops at popular areas or areas such as the "Starter Subway".

  42. After spending 400 months in prison I can 100% say I would be fine with prison sentences being increased 2x and doubling the cap, Between the Lifers and the DOC being more active it did not feel like 6 and a half hours. I also think that increasing the sentences would make criminals be smarter and try to avoid shooting cops cause 30 months for shooting at a cop seems kind of low quite frankly. Idk just a thought

  43. Maybe, just maybe, the issue is that people want to treat Badlands as a Cops v Crim server versus a true roleplay server where unique characters are created that have depth and backstory rather than going full gang gang because it's "more fun." Your number one goal shouldn't be to out play, out gun, or out run the cops every single damn day. It should be to create a story and feed off the energy of those you are roleplaying with; both cops AND civs. The grand issue isn't that the cops are OP or the crims are asshats and one side or the other is too damned extra. The issue is that no one wants to legit roleplay and would rather play GTA Online in a FiveM server. The fix isn't going to come from any rule change or changes with the PD itself. This issue can only be resolved by the community coming together and stepping up their RP game and doing more than gang gang shooty shooty bang bang at cops. There's more to gang RP than planning your 100th bank robbery for the week and setting up traps for the cops. Hell, there's more to RP period than just dealing with cops. Spread the love.

  44. Dont know if possible but heres a suggestion. After committing a crime Ex: shooting a guy selling peaches ,theres a % chance of you leaving evidence behind (in the form of maybe a bag) with maybe your plate info or something like that. You would be able to destroy the bag but it would take like 45 secs or so. If you fail to do so then wen the police show up , they could use that information / evidence against you. Would add to some cool rp on both sides . Im always annoyed "as a cop" about the lack of evidence on certain scenes wen we clearly dont have like a csi team. Plz share your thoughts (Good or bad  ) thank you-Kilo Woods

  45. Exactly what the title says, I think that the whisper range is a bit too large and needs to be reduced. Feel like I have to put in a lot of effort to walk away from a group of people in order to whisper something privately.

  46. I have had several people ask me and I wanted to send everyone an update on Javi (Javier Lopez). He's very sick, and has been in the hospital for a week now on a ventilator. He's not improving, but not getting any worse. Just wanting to let everyone know so hopefully you can send him some positive thoughts or good vibes, hoping he recovers. Much love to my Badlands family.Â
